Man there better be some answers in this next game. I need to know what the real nature of the Marker is, like now!

This is horrible - in single-player, this breaks the immersion horribly.  I don't mind in ME3 MP, but in a SP game that's supposed to have tension.....

Rest of game looks awesome though B).  Agree with it hopefully having an answer or two!

"The PC version is understood to have some graphics options, but no support for DirectX 11, no additional high-resolution textures, and no further graphical enhancements above and beyond those seen on the PS3 or Xbox 360."

Well bugger that then.

That seems a bit bloody rough, particularly in this day and age where gaming PC's are well and truly ahead of the two consoles.  EA's not doing anything for its image...

Cheap, lazy bastards.

I was debating between PC and PS3. Now that I know this, it makes it a lot easier... Trophies it is!

I don't care about micro-transactions if people want to use them to get better weapons quicker that's fine all I see it as an alternative to actual DLC weapons.

I don't like the direction that the weapons are taking though, Isaac is an engineer and I liked the fact that all the weapons bar 1 had a little story on how it was used like as a tool, it really helped in knowing that Isaac was just an engineer with this situation thrust upon him and gave the gave the game its own uniqueness in the weapons department.

I guess in the first game and even the second, Isaac was thrown into the situation and therefore had to re-purpose what he could. In 3 it seems like Isaac's going on the offensive and taking the fight to them, hence having more 'military' weapons. He's prepared this time.

Also all the micro-transaction items can also be bought with in-game resources.

Yeah I know that's why I don't care about it, like with most in-app iOS games all they do is give you things quicker and if it ever reaches the point where they become a necessity on a harder difficulty or something I'll just skip the game.

I just hope that they have balanced the weapons well most weapons in 2 were viable I just don't want more traditional weapons to be more useful(harder difficulties) against the old favourites like the plasma cutter, buzz cutter thingy, though I am guessing that like the previous two the flamethrower option still be useless.

Launch Trailer. (Xbox ad, but we'll just ignore that. ^_^)

Wonder what it could be that's in the air?

I want this now, damn Assassin's Creed 3 why can't you platinum yourself.

I hope someone will shove the Carver cut-scenes on Youtube as I don't think I will play this through on Co-op unfortunately, but I don't want to miss out on any story.

I may play co-op at some point but definitely not on my first run though.

Been reading up on my lore in preparation.  Really hope we get some good answers about what the Marker's were originally intended for. Apparently 'Convergence' means something bad for mankind according to the Devs. I really should start a thread on this topic for those who wanna discuss such things.

One of the developers of Dead Space 3, Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis, has a put up a blog entry in the Dead Space 3 site detailing what sort of new features fans can expect in this instalment of the series. Most of it is what a lot of people have probably heard or know about already (the Mass Effect 3 N7 Armour, scavenger bots and resources for weapons crafting), but a few new things include the four extra game modes that you can unlock after you beat the game, and the fact that their development team is "hard at work on a top secret additional story that will be coming in a few weeks. We're not saying much, yet - but think "disturbing" to get your imaginations going" - so probably a story DLC for later on.

Here's an excerpt from the blog about the extra game modes, but check out the Dead Space 3 Dev Blog to read all the details:

Quote

What else can you choose to do? How about play DS3 in 4 unlockable game modes! Each mode is on-disc, and becomes available when you beat the game once. There’s New Game+, which lets you start a new game with all your upgrades and arsenal intact. There’s Classic Mode, which is for the DS1 veterans out there. It’s single-player only, uses “classic” aiming, and there’s no crafting – all weapons have to be built from blueprints, a la the original game.

Another mode is Pure Survival Mode. If you like survival horror and resource management, this is the mode for you. Enemies ONLY drop resources, and there’s no ammo, health, or weapon parts to be found. You’ll have to choose what to craft every time you see a bench. Upgrade? Med Pack? Plasma Core? Think fast – there’s a Waster right around the corner! Finally, we have the aptly-named Hardcore Mode. Choose this mode, and you only get one life to live for the entire campaign. Make sure to wear a clean pair of boxers when you play…

Got the platinum for Dead Space 2, why not get it for the third? It looks a little more cliche-action then I'd like, but eh. Interested in the game nonetheless. Might wait for a price drop first though.

That's what everyone said about the second game and it turned out fine.

I still reckon the first one was the best. Second was still good though, definitely not complaining. :)

The action level has undeniably been raised again though - I merely wonder if they've taken it too far.
I liked the changes made to DS2, so hopefully its the same deal with the third.
