Apparently there are some connectivity issues with BF4 at the moment (I'd bet the Christmas rush has hit DICE/EA as well).  Hopefully will settle down soon, and isn't affecting peeps here .

PS3 & PS4 Patch out on the 14th Jan, limited details available at this stage.   PC patch has already gone live in theory.

When are they going to fix it so the battlelog is correct logged into it to have a look and half the the stuff I have unlocked shows up as locked and half the kills I have with guns,tanks and such don't show up.

I had some very rubber bandi China Rising games last night before joining CAD for some Rush which ran smooth as til the server patch kicked us all.

Fix details are:


Jan 14 PS4 Game Update Notes
-Various fixes for improving general stability

-Fixed flickering in map and minimap on Rogue Transmission and Operation Locker

-Fixed issue with player spawning under the map in Lancang Dam

-Increased damage by 25% for the Stealth Jet 20mm cannons

-Normalized repair rates across all vehicles. Vehicles with lower health points, like aircraft and transport vehicles, now repair more slowly than before

-Fixed a bug where the M1 Abrams Coaxial HMG ammo box was occasionally blocking the driver’s camera

-Fix for friendly marker not always showing when needed to, resulting in players shooting team members

-Fixed problem with killer health in kill card not being correctly updated (showing 100% health even though the soldier was hurt)

-EU Players: Fixed bug where game wouldn’t start when when the console was running in any of these languages: Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Czech, Brazilian Portuguese

-Fix for bug where it looked like soldier was dying with 1 health instead of 0

-Fixed a player feedback timing issue where blood was appearing before other damage indicators, and before damage was actually done

Shortcut Bundles
We are preparing two shortcut bundles for Battlefield 4 that we will make available for download at no cost during the Player Appreciation Month. These voluntary shortcut bundles will unlock all grenades and handguns for Battlefield 4 (the base game) so you can make up for lost time. Or if you’re new to the game, they will help you catch up with players who have been on the Battlefield since launch. We will get back to you with more details once we have set release dates for these items.
For all of our Battlefield 4 Premium users, we’re adding two additional weapon shortcuts, unlocking DMR’s and shotguns. That way, if you like, you can quickly get your hands on a large portion of the weapons available in Battlefield 4.

Anyone else having issues with their stats and loadouts in game?
I can still see my stats and loadouts in Battlelog, but I can't change any of my weapons. Every time I play it's standard weapons and loadouts

China Rising wasn't working either. Trying to join a China Rising map took me to the store. If I tried to DL it, said it was already DL'ing. Deleted it and re-installed. SHould try it again.

EDIT: Got my kits back. Still can't play china rising in AU or Asia. Other regions work fine :/

Word is that DICE has rolled out new hardware soon to help with rubber-banding in 64 player games, deffo good news for BF4 fans .  May be worth giving the larger games a look and see how they go.

But that's not all!  DICE have brought in a new, innovative, nay revolutionary feature top BF4.  While it's only in beta phase and not available for all modes yet, you can now form a squad before a game and join a game together for a good number of modes!  This is the kind of feature that's so cool everyone'll be doing it in a few years .

It's only for console, because according to DICE "PC players can easily join friends on the battlefield by using Battlelog."  While console players could do this in theory, it never bloody worked when I tried it, so maybe it actually did work on PC so those BF4 players aren't as narky.  Either way, it's great to see DICE continuing to support the game.  Unlike BF4, hopefully EA'll let 'em release BF5 it after they finish it.

Yeah it's pretty easy on PC puts you in a squad with them too.

Yeah they have patched the console battlelog in terms of joining friends, I was able to do it the other night to join CAD.

Also saw the new option in the pre-game menu for squadding up but havent given it a whirl yet

Tried it the other night however there was no option for joining squad deathmatch that seemed very strange the one named squad mode game and you couldn't join as a squad.
The other issue was it only ever dropped the squad into the games with the lowest number of players. We would get dropped into a game as a squad of 3 with only 2 other playes in it and leave again.
They did seem to have private servers running now also.

Looks like DICE can not solve the Netcode issues in house.  DICE are setting up new Community Test Environment servers, a separate version of the game and battlelog for CTE Servers.

Initially its only for PC Premium folks in the initial roll out.

If I read between the lines, is this finally an admission that BF4 is broken and they can't fix it without help from the community?  Hope they can fix it in time for a successful Stars Wars: Battlefront launch

Straussy will love this, DICE/EA adding a ME3 Style 'Buy Packs with Real Money' feature.  So another store that's built to troll ya Straussy

Would be nicer to be able to trade a lot of the useless gear I have with Friends rather than pay $ for more random crap!
