So thanks to PanterA a
here I managed to get a beta key to The Crew: Wild Run. It is a big download at 18gb it gives you the full map to drive around on, so I am thankful my net isn't as slow as it was I managed to download it all last night.
Managed to get it running on my old as PC, runs probably in the 15-30fps ranged depending on where I am or whats happening but it has its time of relative smoothness. I have it windowed at 720p everything as low as possible.
But graphics is not why I wanted to play it, The Crew was one of those games from E3 2013 that grabbed my attention but as released I lost interest in it. Always online is always a bummer as you always have that feeling when will they shut the servers stopping you from playing it but it was the negative feedback against the handling that drove me away from it. As my fellow racers know handling is most important since its what you do and if you don't like it what ever it is on the scale of handling the game just isn't going to be fun to play.
So when hearing the Wild Run update is having some handling tweaks I jumped at a chance to give it a go.
It has a few cars all forms unlocked already it drops you in at level 40, so I had a roam around in fullstock and other variants on roads and off road to get a good feel for the handling and how it felt. I like it, it feels like something that I would enjoy doing the things I tried didn't feel off to me they hit my green zone for happy handling. I am definitely going to play some more of it as just driving aimlessly off road is fun as is tearing along windy roads or highways depending on what I feel like.
It has done enough to rekindle my interest in the game, not enough to get it not on sale though, that always online one day always offline is such a preventative for paying top dollar.
