This be sad news.  According to the devs:

Quote

As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.

I always back finishing before shipping, but I know there were plenty of people for whom this was _the_ game to be excited for, for next gen, who have my sympathy.

Yeah doesn't really affect me though, i wasn't planning on getting it till mid 2014 anyway.

More time to complete and polish the game means itll be that much better and more fun.

Maybe they needed ore time to programme screen tear into every aspect of the game...lol...this is actually by good news, hopefully they have discovered some new programming methods and these will result in improvements in the game. Doesn't look likeps4 will beavailable off the shelf tip February or march 2014 anyway

Sounds good to me, these types of games are sometimes always a little rough around the edges because they're so huge so I'm fine with this.

Have seen a few comments about the interwebs, lots of hysteria (is it just me, or is there more hysteria in gaming, nay everything, these days?) but no real clear information (well, that I could see - it smelled of hysteria, so I didn't pay it much attention).  Something to do with a trailer that didn't look that impressive, but Ubi then went on record saying it was all good.  Game's not gold yet, so I'd wait until final trailers pre-release, or reviews, to be sure.

I think it worked out fairly well for them, they got a lot of extra hype for being the first big next-gen game that got everyone's attention.

I found an interesting reference in ACIV Black Flag that Watch Dogs could be set in the same universe. Clever marketing or just a what if easter egg who knows.

It's a marketing brochure for Blume, the security company within Watch Dogs responsible for the city and Abstergo is commenting on it. Very interesting.

    Season Pass
    • All new single-player campaign: Play as T-Bone
    • Unlockable gear for Aiden
    • Additional Missions for Aiden
    • A mind-bending new mode: Conspiracy

    Quote

T-Bone’s not your run-of-the-mill, ordinary hacker. He grew up a tinkerer and basement hacker before the internet was barely a byte. T-Bone’s all about the intimate power he gets. It’s an addiction. He can’t help challenging his mind to unlock areas forbidden to him. And it hasn’t gone without punishment. Very soon, you’ll get to experience all of this hands-on.
Not only that, but you’ll also get a new game mode, Conspiracy, in which you’ll get swarmed by unfamiliar attackers, three additional single player missions and five additional single player packs. All of which you’ll get access to a full week before anyone else.

Thanks for the info Spec :D.  That sounds like the first decent single-player season pass I've heard of (unless you count BL2, but that's best played coop).  I'll wait until I've actually played the game though, before I work out whether it's so much fun I want more.

    Watch_Dogs delayed until 2014

    By I_live_4_fun in Gaming News, on 15 October 2013 - 10:52 PM

Watch Dogs has slipped into 2014. As one of the biggest and most highly anticipated titles this year, it is unfortunate to see that Watch_Dogs from Ubisoft has been pushed out of the current and next-gen consoles November launch window, but hopefully the extra time will allow developers to polish and add the finishing touches the game clearly...
