pc version of watch dogs for about $40-ish on pc:

Attached File  md_476523.jpg   59.83K   0 downloads

disclaimer: according to axe only peecees with an i7 processor & gtx760 graphics card will achieve the remarkable 30fps/900p graphics of the ps4, so please be aware that although you'll get the game at almost $60 less on peecee than on ps4, you will lose out in having to upgrade your computer if it's over 5 years old to play this game.

This be good to hear, although calling the 670 a mid-range GPU is "GPU inflation" of the highest order - it's like calling a Ferrari a "mid range car" because F1's are better!  A quick google gives the price of a 670 at around $400 (still a good deal better than the 780, mind).  Generally, I'd consider up to the X60's mid-range with Nvidia, and once you're X70 and up, you're at high-range.

Also, that link was $49.95 when I went through it.  Still a great price mind.

yeah the tweet says you have to have a good CPU to match this mid-range GPU coping with ultra settings

My CPU atm doesnt have hyperthreading and I am guessing that it what they are referring to...

@ axe; i embedded an image with the post that gives you a 25% discount, valid til friday i think.

@ straus; all that bit is over my head.  from what i understand the stuff in my box is all kinda on par with each other with no bottlenecks.  so i'm thinking i should be fine to run it all at high/ultra quality but only time will tell.

Yeah I am only concerned about the hyperthreading given Ubi's requirements for the game. You won't have a bottleneck per se in most games, but the ability of your CPU to process what happens in the watchdogs world might require a lower GPU setting to function properly from what I have read/understood. Like you said we shall have to wait.

Here's some charts below that he posted on twitter. He said that a CPU with a score between 9k-10k paired with the aforementioned 670 should be enought to run it decently on ultra at what I'd guess would be 1080p.

I am pretty sure in that scenario I wouldn't be able to run ultra at 1080p. From memory my i5 CPU got an 8k benchmark score  (self tested) when I initially bought it, but I have a 770 not a 670 so who knows :P

in that twitter though, the original person asked about running it at 1600x900, which is what it'll be on ps4.  so i'm not sure what resolution the guy is referring to tbh.

my cpu is returning a benchmark of 6,505 & the gpu 4,117 (but the msi oc is quicker than standard, but probably not even 5% in real world results).  that's vs the 9,000-10,000 cpu he's recommending & the 5,385 670 reference card he's suggested for it (but no idea what resolution he's talking).

Most of those editions are physical stuff though. Not actual digital content. Your pretty much set with the deluxe edition and season pass if you care about the content. It's not really intimidating at all. If not the base game is fine.

I don't think it's really surprising that many different editions considering that Watch Dogs is on everything too.

Edit/ I've found most recent collector's editions aren't worth it. As imaginative as they are with the names etc. The packaging is generic and physical stuff is filler. I used to spend extra for soundtracks but it works out cheaper to buy it individually now and you don't get shortchanged in just getting 6 track samplers (looking at you Tomb Raider) which is happening more and more.

@ Pink - That's insane!  Well, until Smokey explains it :D.  I generally just roll with the standard one (or if there's one with packed-in DLC that I reckon I'll play).

I'll deffo get for PS4, but not at launch, probably Aug/Sep way.  I just like to be fashionably late :).

Hype train has officially left the station. Anyone would think this game was the second coming. And of course all of the game news sites are doing Ubisoft's marketing for them.

Made the mistake of opening up the steam forum for Watch Dogs and damn. Does the steam community go that negative for every major release? It's insane the amount of venom and trolls there.

I was lucky when I preordered from steam, they've since hiked the price for just Aus/NZ. It really is ridiculous we get treated.

Watch_Dogs delayed until 2014

By I_live_4_fun in Gaming News, on 15 October 2013 - 10:52 PM

Watch Dogs has slipped into 2014. As one of the biggest and most highly anticipated titles this year, it is unfortunate to see that Watch_Dogs from Ubisoft has been pushed out of the current and next-gen consoles November launch window, but hopefully the extra time will allow developers to polish and add the finishing touches the game clearly...
