Man that last area is a bitch (FTL)! Had 8 crew, 3 drones, 2 weapons, 3 layer shields and still had a rough trot. Got a little bit through it but that one battle was intense - I nearly had him.

Yup, that's what I'm talking about ;).  Congratulations on almost getting through it, that's one genuinely tough end zone, best of luck for the next run-through :D.

I think I'm enjoying these smaller games more than the bigger ones these days... some of the big ones are just a little too daunting for me. Hell, I was doing so well with MGSV and then lost interest in it. I've got Pillars of Eternity, Divinity and of course Witcher 3 - all massive games. I'm afraid that the same will happen with Fallout 4 when it eventually releases. Pity - used to love the massive RPGs.

Yeah I think Divinity suffered the same sort of thing with me and I haven't picked up Pillars either for the very same reason. I'm thinking the enhanced Original with voices and controller support will be good to try and pick it up again when it releases soon.

Yeah - that's what I've been waiting for as well. Should be out soon.

there's just too many good games around at the moment to really focus on just one (well unless you're on console *delicious bait for axe lol*).

played more spec ops, right now that's my game i'm hoping would last me til fallout 4 but i think i've almost finished it in only 2 sit downs, which turned into far longer than normal sessions as i can't put it down !!!

Yeah I think that's it. All these great games are just all encompassing right now with a huge amount of content and playtime just by themselves. Maybe the next big wave will be a pushback from that a bit, more lean but thoughtful games.

:P.  I'm doing the same a bit - have a strategy game that is very time-consuming, and mixing in smaller games in-between.  Peace Walker'll be an exception to that, will see how that goes.  I do like the bite-sized experiences, I only really want to get into a huge game if it really draws me in.

Great to hear Spec Ops went well - it's not that long, but it's all quality :).  I'm a big fan of games like that - quality first, length later if and only if appropriate.

you won't regret playing it, just stick it out til the end, it's not massively long or anything but the story is brilliant.

Technical question/help

In the last week my PC has not been booting up correctly. The BIOS screen loads always followed by 50% chance of then seeing the windows 10 logo. After this happens the screen is then covered in small grey squares with the OS not loading requiring the computer to be rebooted/turned off.

I used a pressurized air canister to clean up the CPU and GPU a bit (not that it was that dirty). This seems to temporarily solve the problem until a few days later when it happens again.

So not sure what to make of this and need help brainstorming.

Cheers

sounds like the graphics card imo.  if you've got integrated graphics you could remove the card & see if it's all fine, that'd isolate it to being that if it went away.

Could be your monitor as well - although, if it's booting to the BIOS, then probably GPU as Graph said.

Bought Arkham Knight on PC via Steam... apparently I should get all the other Arkham games for free. Need to purchase it before 16th November. Nice!

just stay with it until it develops further, took less than 6 hours for a good play through so even if you don't like it's not a big loss (but i'm sure you'll love it !!!!).

If it helps I thought Spec Ops The Line was just an average shooter with no personality either but it's actually a loose adaption of the Heart of Darkness and that shows the more time you give it. Like Apocalypse Now. Still need to finish it.

Well that's what I think it'll end up being. Graph usually likes all the shit games and hates on all the good ones anyway - so I won't be surprised.
