Now we all know the major sites will have their Game of the Year (GOTY) awards, but what about us Aussie and Kiwi gamers?  Please post your personal favourite game all year below (it doesn't need to be popular, or the most technologicaly advanced, or on any particular platform - it just needs to be a game, and to have been released in 2012 - it can be significant DLC as well - ie, Aftermath for BF3), and then next Sunday we'll put a poll together and we can all vote on it and see which game turns out to be the GG GOTY .

Borderlands 2 hands down haha.

Ghost recon: Future soldier had the potential to be a contender, but it was a let down ( not to mention died early )
Though with axe here, nothing can beat the mighty birds of steel

I'll put down Hitman: Absolution (released November 20th, 2012). I really like the stealth and you-can-do-anything approach to completing missions in the campaign. And competing against the performance scores of friends, nation averages, and other people across the globe is a really great challenge too.

(But I still haven't tried Far Cry 3 yet ).

Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure how to rig the poll results, although I'm sure if I looked hard enough I could find the database/entry where they were stored.  If Birds of Steel takes 90% of the vote, you know I've found it .

The same thing happened again that happened last year, most games I played were released earlier, only played 4 this from this year(FFXIII-2, AC3(barely), SpC2, LBP:K).
Spec Ops, Sleeping Dogs and Far Cry 3 all possible contenders I won't play until next year.

I guess I'll nominate Final Fantasy XIII-2(2/2/2012) even though it is by far the shortest FF I have played and I missed travelling between areas by foot, it brought back side missions/towns, the multiple dialogue options were good and I enjoyed seeing the old gang from 13, still looks good as well.

I actually quite like Future Soldier, though I dont think it is GOTY material. There hasnt really been many games this year that have stood out for me to be honest.

Hmmmm, didn't think about re-releases in future years on different systems.  Yeah, we'll chuck it in . As long as no-one nominates Mass Effect .

I was only joking. The reason why I said it because I'm playing it atm. It's bloody good and definitely my GOTY. But I'll go with BL2 instead then. Haven't played much else this year.

Hmm - I haven't played most of the games released this year (or last year), and the ones i've played aren't GOTY material.

Yeah, sorry Aro - you can only vote for one in the poll, so I guess only choose one as well .  It's deffo subjective - this'll be more like 'GG's favourite game' rather than a verdict on the quality of design or something .

It's still going strong. In fact it's better than last year...

Otherwise, tough choice. I'll have to think long and hard about what quality games released this year that haven't already been mentioned.

For me the best game this year has to be Dragons Dogma was a good story game play was top notch while the graphics did lack a little a game is not all about looks but how it plays and capcom did a top notch job on it.

But then I am most likely the only one on here to have played it since there are so many cod scrubs on here

There might be one or two others - I reckon you've got a greater chance of finding someone else than I have with the mighty BIRDS OF STEEL .

Hmmm tough one.   Has to be either BL2 or AC3.   Probably AC3 as BL2 wasn't as much fun solo.  So AC3 best single player game, and BL2 for best online experience.

Can we nominate ME3 for the worst ending of any penned saga in history?
