Welcome to GoodGame.net.au’s community Game of the Year 2014 Nominations and voting.

2014 has been a big year for gaming with the 1st year of the 8th generation consoles coming to an end and plenty of high profile releases with a couple of sleeper hits.

There are plenty of worthy contenders for the title which poses the question, what will be GoodGame's GOTY 2014? And will it repeat GG's GOTY '13 'The Last of Us' dominate win or will several titles fight it out for top spot.

We put it to you to help us decide.

Game eligibility:
Released between 15/12/2013 and 15/12/2014 (Extended) in Australia.

• All platforms are eligible (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, PC OS's, iOS, Android, etc).
  
• GOTY/Complete editions are not eligible (i.e, re-released games with DLC).
  
• No Remakes/HD/Ports unless they are substantially different to their original release (i.e. a graphical update with a few minor tweaks is not different enough).
  
• Stand alone games only, if it requires a 'Base' game to run its not eligible.

Game nomination and voting period will run until the 15/12/2014(Extended).
You may change your vote at any-time before the close date by editing your previous post or making a new one which will void all your posts prior to it.

You may nominate and vote for up to three (3) games.

Nomination and voting format is as below.
Example:
3 “GameA”
2 “GameB”
1 “GameC”

So “GameA” receives 3 points “GameB” 2 points and “GameC” 1 point.
Optionally you may also give a reason why “GameA” is your GOTY bearing in mind that your reason may be used in the GOTY article for the site.

There will be a Winner and 2 runner ups.

lol - the only game I've played on that list is Trials Fusion... just goes to show how much gaming I've done this year. Oddly enough, there's only a few games there that I really want to play (when I get time). Divinity Original Sin, Reaper of Souls, Inquisition, FC4 and Shadow of Mordor. The problem is, they'll probably end up on my next years GOTY list, and that's if I even get around to playing them at all... with games like Witcher 3 on the horizon, which will surely take precedence.

Top stuff Spec .  I'm planning to start Shadow of Mordor this weekend, so I'll hold off on voting right now, but there have been some great games released this year (sure, there have been a few under-performers as well, but that's not for a thread like this one ).  Not bad a for a console launch year, that's for sure .

will have to wait til i play those up-comers or the ones i just haven't gotten to yet that could qualify.  apart from that watch dogs & lords of the fallen were just 2 different types of turd for me.

3 points: Alien Isolation. After a second play through, the game isn't close to being boring (like most games these days). Top notch game!
2 points: Dark souls 2. Typical souls game, hate it, love it haha.

Only 2 games ive actually put some hours into, others i've only played little of so no sense in voting for them.

Looking at the list it seems this year in gaming was kinda stink. Of all the games i played i wont be nominating any of them

What about Wasteland 2 Graph? you seemed to enjoy that, and unless I'm missing something its an eligible title.

I'm kinda really upset right now... it took me weeks to get over it being a Wii U exclusive, then it took weeks after I saw all the top reviews it got, now it's going to take weeks because you just fucking reminded me about it again. lol

A - Farcry 4
B - AC Unity
C - Infamous: Second Son
All of my selections are based on SP campaign as I have not has decent access to the internet for the last part of this year, which I believe also coincides with the realease of the best games of the year. Therefore my 3 points must go to Farcry 4, arguably the biggest (land space wise) game to come out, the thing is enormous, I've spent 20 + hours on this so far and dont think I've unlocked over half the map yet. I will say however I am collecting all collectables as well which I'll admit does add on a bit of time. The game itself looks great and as usual still has the outragous villian (albiet mostly by voice only at the mement) amongst other thinks to keep you thoroughly entertained. Traversing this map can be tedious at times but with the addition of the buzzer this is made far less tedious, fo those who like hunting, there a a huge variety of local wildlife to slay an skin with a quite a few very difficult to take down using only a bow! All in all a thoroughly enjoyable game which I know I won't be ptting down any time soon. P.S KZ2 still best game of all time.

Let's be honest though, even if it wasn't an exclusive, you were never going to play it.
