Funny thing talking about Skyrim mods. Valve and Bethesda have decided to destroy all the good feels if any people have towards them at all by putting up a pay wall for skyrim mods on the workshop. *Slow clap* It's been a disaster from day 1. Pretty much everyone getting screwed and what was a great community has been instantly divided now that money is entering into the equation. You can't just turn around and monetize the community that's been keeping your game going long after the company left support behind. Indeed finished the game for them.

Dangerous precedent, hope it gets stopped before it even gets close to setting a standard for the industry that we will now have paid mods and modders will just become essentially pseudo employees.

Awesome news about Dirt Rally GC, it's been far too long between great rally games :D.

Aye, at one point I thought the monetisation could be a good way of people getting rewarded for their hard work, but there's too many greedy twats for that to work out, and the legal/community implications are horrendous.  Kill paid mods with fire!

Had another bash at it this morning (started work at 3am so I'm allowed a bludge :P) and I've got myself a RWD now and I would like to be able to throw the car around more, there's still something about it that isn't quite right - it's difficult to get the back out but even harder to counter that. As I said earlier - might need an overhaul. Likewise again with the actual driving on surfaces - you can see the animations of the wheel on screen but it's not translating to the feedback on the wheel. It is early days though - so I'm sure these things will get fixed. They are definitely on the right path - that's for sure.

Aye, it's Early Access, so it's not going to be polished or even feature complete at this stage.  That it shows so much promise is a good thing, and hopefully it'll draw enough attention to get the budget it needs at Codies to be done right :).

Definitely understand that - but it's there to be criticised nonetheless... that was the whole point of its 'early access' release.

Oh aye, not being critical of criticism :).  We'd best be careful, or we'll get the criticism version of inception!

Can't believe it just arrived... meaning, I bought it late yesterday afternoon and it's already here.

I only played DiRT 3 and rally was the best part of that game, so this looks heaps good.

It's definitely not as easy as Dirt 3 - just a warning.

Unsure what it'd be like with a controller as well... but what I really meant by easy is it's not casual. Definitely tailored more towards the sim/hardcore audience (even though I hate using that word).

Bought Assetto Corsa tonight - thought I'd get it now that I have a shifter... Now I know what everyone is going on about. Bugger all tracks and cars though (compared to other games) but it's still bloody worth it for the driving. If Project Cars is like that or even close, it'll be a ripper.

So added to the above - if you like racing games and want the real deal, get it. Definitely the closest I've gotten to driving a real car.

there's a sim racing bundle on steam atm for $US8, few of the racers in there look really good, got high meta scores for their time too (like 84).  none appear to have achievements or cards but there's tons of hours of fun there.

@ gc; you'll be surprised at these old games, the community for many of them is still thriving, the base games have better graphics than say GT6, you'll have more cars/tracks than alsetto & the mods are abundant.  if you're keen on racing than these games would be a good buy.
