Played a bit at a friends, not overly sold on it.

Shot i think it was called a deathclaw? in the head and it died so no idea why the internet makes a big deal of them lol :/
Was killed by some big ass explosion multiple times and things coming out of the ground..

Yeah i've never played fallout before, not a fucking clue what's going on lol.
Probably play some more tomorrow, for those that have played it, is it really worth grabbing? I do need a new game as Ive just about finished the others.

Up to you mate - just think Skyrim in an apocalyptic setting with guns instead of swords and power armour instead of dragon scales. It's less serious than Skyrim as well - bit of humour thrown in. There is absolutely no hand holding so if you are new to it, you will be clueless... But that's the whole point of it I reckon - discovering. Not just locations but how to play it and how to survive. There's no right or wrong way really.

Good stuff! Speaking of bases, I've added some lights/electricity/radio tower now... there's still room to extend but there's only 6 visitors now and it's two story for now (can keep going higher if need be). There's only one entry - and you have to pass a hell of a lot of turrets and booby traps along the way. Haven't been attacked yet, although I haven't really been doing any quests - mainly just collecting scrap (exciting times).

The sounds of all this base building has my interest very high (not that it wouldn't have been high already ;)), congrats on picking it up Saintsy, hope you have a great time :D.

I'm just starting to set up my second one - just put supply lines linked between them... naturally, that'll be done for all of them. I might pull down 'some' of my behemoth base so there's more to use on the other settlements.

Yeah love the settlements.  Had one reach max size, but found a neat trick on reducing that using weapons, so I was able to continue building my tower to the sky.  My character has crap charisma, so playthrough 2 will be where I focus on settlements and being a minuteman :)

I have no idea how connect settlements or set up stores. The game doesn't explain shit.

you need the local leader perk at level 2 iirc, then you can link the settlements.  i basically use my large settlements to multiple link out to the smaller ones & then they take off as well.  have my artillery covering most of the map now i think (although it often doesn't even wound the enemies lol).

spoilers below;
i'm in a 'relationship' with cait now.  when i sleep in a bed i sleep with her & get a massive xp bonus which goes on top of the well rested bonus lol.  her dialogue has also changed, a lot more playful now.

i'm a knight in the brotherhood of steel.  rode a vertibird across the map to a massive blimp.  while flying i manned a door mounted minigun.  was pretty cool, but could hardly make out what i was shooting at & too worried about pounding my own settlements etc lol.

here's a couple screens of my mancave;

Attached File  2015-11-22_00002.jpg   103.31K   19 downloads

at my settlements i'm getting a little anal putting everyone in military clothing, with either leather armor pieces or combat armor pieces.  in the cabinet near the hoists there's enough power armor pieces to complete another suit but i don't have a frame thing to attach them to.

Nice setup Graph B)

I have two nice maxed out (upgrades) sets of power armour (X1 and BoS) and 4 frames, but have only used em briefly for one quest section for rad protection.  Playing a stealthy sniper so havent found I need it yet . . .

the X1 is the best armor (remnants/enclave from fallout 2 ???) isn't it ?  i think i'll have the BoS armor soon, doing that quest atm but one of my settlements were attacked so i had to go help them out.

Yeah X1 is the best I have found.  Took heaps of matts and some high level perks to max it out.  Pretty sure it was enclave though can't quite recall, visually it looks like em

haha I went to help one of my settlements under attack, there was like 4 waves of attackers one after the other, raiders, mutants, gunners and more raiders.

i keep having the same settler taken hostage for ransom over & over again.  really annoying as he's my weapons trader in sanctuary & every time i want to buy ammo he's missing.

i'm also getting hammered by the same quest over & over, abernathy farm with raiders in the corvega factory.  sick of going there & clearing it out but if you don't you don't advance to the next quest for clearing new settlements.

seems like maintaining settlements is more hassle than it's worth. Might not bother anymore.

I've been raided once but it was in that little place where you do your first Minuteman mission. I still need to set up better defences at that place but there's only one person living there.- I killed the other person because they got in the line of my fire (when the raid was happening). You can't remove his dead body either.

ps. i've lost my dog, did a mission where you have to use him & i lost track of where he was rofl.  i hope he comes back.
