Nice one Clowny, let us know how it goes :).  Still playing Stellaris here - a buggier launch than EU4, but still a lot of fun.  Would probably recommend people holding off until at least the first patch (due later this week if we're lucky) and maybe the second unless they're keen to see the game in it's early stages, but expect the game to turn out as a classic (I'm already enjoying launch Stellaris more than fully patched and expanded (at least until now) Gal Civ III, sad as it is for me to say about Gal Civ III).

Decided to try out iRacing. Downloading it now... will come back later with thoughts. US$5 for 3 months - not really the cars and tracks I'd like for the base price and don't really want to spend more on it to get the stuff I'd like (at this stage). If it absolutely blows me away - then I'll think a little more seriously about digging deeper (into the wallet).

a mate of mine is heavily into iRacing, competing & all that type of thing.

Thanks for the heads up about Stellaris Axe. It'll be interesting to see what directions it'll go with official expansions and modding eventually.

I don't think the driving is the best - that's for sure. The tyre physics (particularly) aren't on par with some others. I just can't feel every bump in the road or the FFB mimicking what the car is doing on screen as opposed to Assetto Corsa where you see the chassis responding to every bump and that transferring perfectly to the FFB. The roads just feel like you're driving on nothing... even GT does a better job of giving you road feel. The weight of the cars is great though - I just think it's not what it's cracked up to be. Sure for the racing/league aspects, but not entirely for the rest of it. The tracks are very well captured though but if I could actually feel them, that'd put it up there with Assetto. I still think Assetto Corsa is the best... hence the reason why I wanted to test it out and see for myself. Graphically (which I don't care much for) it's not quite as good as Assetto but they both aren't exactly 'lookers' compared to games like Project Cars. But Project Cars feels poo in comparison to Assetto Corsa as does every other racing game now that I've played.

Tentatively playing the pc again after loads of drama with it. So far so good. Seemed there was a bit of dust in one small fan causing problems.

Might actually finally finish a ck2 game I've had going for months.

i haven't played in freaking ages, dreading going back to dark souls 3 as i'm at supposedly the hardest boss in the entire game.  think when i go back to it i'll have to adventure about a bit to get a feel for it again.

Yeah it mustve been. Though it didn't matter whether I was gaming or not thing was crashing and being all round difficult.

Was almost thinking the videocard was dying but it was actually the fan for the integrated card that had loads of build up I think. So far so good fingers crossed.

Haha yeah it was like that for me for bloodborne many times. I found easing back into it and exploring I enjoyed it more again after really demoralizing bits.

Glad it's sorted Smokey, sympathies and understanding for all the issues, may they be the last in a good long while :).  Good luck with that boss Graph - I've done that a couple of times (taken breaks, then gone back to hard sections).  Character building....

did a fairly solid play on dark souls 3.  went around & just got a feel for it all again, then returned to the boss & helped a couple of other guys hammer it.  i'm going to take a guess here & say that maybe something has been tweaked as i tried to defeat it a number of times when i was playing all the time & couldn't win.  this time i literally beat it on my first attempt helping, my first attempt for my own play through & now twice more.  all the same it's enjoyable, but before i couldn't do bugger all to it & that's when i was really into the game.

well now i'm lost again, going to have to google where to go now as i think i've got all the lords of cinder & this guy was a side boss.

It may have been tweaked (particularly these days, where patches come thick and fast), but I remember a few times back in the PS2 days I'd get stuck on a boss, go away for a bit, come back and smash it first time, when patching couldn't have been an issue.  Sometimes a fresh perspective can help get around something?  Either way, congrats and good luck moving forward :).

i reckon it was the patch as it was very easy on all attempts by comparison.

well finished dark souls 3 will do a little review tomorrow but i've already started my new game/journey 2 xD

turns out what i needed to do to finish i'd done, but not really taken enough notice.  was just the matter of setting things up for the final boss fight.

They've completely changed Witcher 3's UI and it's super weird now. Though that doesn't mean it isn't better and more organised but right now it feels weird. They have also added some nice quality of life changes so you don't have to go digging in menus as much as you used to.

i always found the witchers menus & hud to be a bit of a mess.  with the hud you eventually just ignore it & start playing it by feel as to when something will run out or what's selected etc.

Yeah I found the interface and hud one of the weakest parts of it so I'm interested to see how it all turned out the reworking.
