Just fired up a game and loving it, and want to tell the world?  Started something and couldn't play it for more than 20 minutes because it was a trainwreck of design and coding?  Tell the GG community :).

ok, so here's where i've been at with gaming (all thoughts imo) ...

https://www.playfire.com/GraphicX

so i had a stint at a couple of PS+ rpgs.  one was LoTRs war in the north which i played through twice (i RARELY replay a game's campaign unless i really enjoy it) & then kingdoms of amalur.  both games i thought were fantastic, really had me going back again & again with solid story lines & smooth, enjoyable game play.

i then tried out 'i am alive' which was on sale on ps store & couldn't get into it.  i think i tried it out twice & it just didn't grab me so has been uninstalled.  reckon i got most of the way through it but it just wasn't good.

i then jumped into xcom: enemy unknown & was loving it.  haven't really played any turn based stuff since fallout 2 or civ V so it was a great change.  powered through it & was left wanting right at the end of the game at the final boss fight.  was literally a 2 hit, single round kill with a sniper.

then went to god of war HD which is yet another PS+ title.  i played it twice & hit delete.

next game last of us.  freaking great game, thought it was pretty average at the start (just wasn't enough looting etc going on), but the game warmed up after about 2 hours play & i couldn't put it down.  after the campaign i moved onto the multi which was solid, but unfortunately ruined by continually poor & unpredictable connection.

enter yet another PS+ title of spec ops the line.  i went in expecting something similar to socom or even army of two but was totally surprised.  turned out to be a terrific game with a VERY unique storyline, something a little twighlight zone in fact.

then went to hitman absolution (yes another ps+ game, just about all of them are haha).  i played it on 3 separate occasions but couldn't get into it so hit delete.

next came payday the heist.  how the fück this game is anything more than a free tablet game download full of ads & in game purchases is beyond me.  DELETED !

then got pretty excited at the prospect of LoTR guardians of middle earth.  then became super disappointed to find it was online only & nobody plays it lol.

ok almost done.

then there was mafia II.  freaking fantastic game.  had tons of scope to be a fairly boring sandbox game with too little stuff to do & a loose storyline, but it absolutely delivered.  great game.

ended up going to just cause 2 next which was in a ps store sale.  had high hopes of it as a mate on pc was raving about it & had discovered & done everything in the game.  i sat & played it probably 4 times trying to get into it & found it poor.  it felt a lot like farcry 2, REALLY repetitive, shocking & meaningless storyline & just totally mindless.

now i'm playing tomb raider, reckon i'm maybe 60% through the campaign.  had really high hopes of it as people have likened it to uncharted etc but it turns out it's a game that truly stands on its own to feet (& is a total credit to square enix !).  comparing this game to uncharted is like comparing uncharted to indiana jones or romancing the stone/jewel of the nile.  they're just adventure games with similar themes, but the game play, story telling etc is unique.  so far loving this game, lara gets pretty smashed in it though haha.

hoping to knock tomb raider over during the week, next will come assassins creed 3 or skyrim, which i've never played either of.

Nice one Graph B).  Tearing into Last of Us atm (which is easily the best game in its class, and arguably the best game this console generation - I honestly can't think of anything that comes close, not even BIRDS OF STEEL :D), and playing a little Puddle (Vita puzzle game) on the side.  Puddle is nothing mindblowing, but it's interesting and well done, and I'm not really into puzzlers (it was a PS+er) so it's not surprisng it hasn't really grabbed me.

Also finished my first run-through EU4 as the Brits.  Wondering what I'll play my second run-through as, anyone got any favourite countries that were around in 1444?  In between, though, going to give Halo Wars a look.  Looking forward to tearing into Sleeping Dogs soon, but going to play through Perfect Dark Zero (low expectations) and Halo 4 (moderate expectations) first, so I can trade the 360 to make room for the PS4.  360 has been worth getting, but only just - while the library between the two has a lot of overlaps, Sony's exclusives mean that, for me, the difference between the top games on the PS3 and the top games on the 360 were chalk and cheese.

And here's my equiv an Raptr to that Playfire thing :D.  I like Raptr as it tracks time, and tbh the amount of time I spend with a game is usually a far better indication of how much I like it than trophies or the like (although you have to do the PS3 stuff manually, but it's easy enough to do).

what happens with the time tracking if you leave the game running but go afk ?  that happens to me all the time, not unusual for it to be left on over night as a result :/

Just keeps going, not for PS3 but for X360 and PC.  I try and avoid leaving machines on when I'm not using them, although I do get the odd interruption where you can't easily shut things down.  The 360 time tracking isn't quite spot on - it's a bit funny, but I haven't quite worked out how, but it seems to get close enough.

^ Needed way more wolves tbh.

Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires.
Massive step up from 6e lol, but still pretty much your average DW game. Love the new musou system now, the 3 musou attacks is much better than just 1 long bar. That and with Air musou attacks/R1 musou attacks rock. Some are pretty shit in terms of accuracy, but some are OP as balls (Guan Yu's, Zhuge Liang's). Lubu is simply Lubu, nothing ever changes haha! And like always Trophies make the game more interesting with making you do things you normally wouldnt haha.

Character traits are a nice touch. Making an evil Liu bei was lolsy. Specific Stratagems for traits was a great idea, though some are quite OP if used correctly haha. Poison mist wrecks everyone. Though keeping them balanced is quite difficult, im hoping to have a character with all at level 9, don't think it'll happen haha. Being able to have 2 weapons is a great feature. Having a slow powerful weapon and a quick weaker one can really change the balance when you're up against 4-5 officers.

All the levels got a nice little make over, nothing much changed which is good and bad. The AI got a slight improvement, but their combat AI is still quite poor. They need to make it so they actually fight more aggressive and not give us so much time to move/attack. Atleast custom characters move and play like you do when you play as them.

Though like all Empires games, they get boring/repetitive far too quickly. Really missing the story side of the game. Havent been able to find normal copies since ps2 haha ( Got DW5 downloaded from psn :P). Atleast with the standard versions have far more repetition since there's various events, characters die and everything changes where as empires nothing really changes haha, just characters/nations.

Still a top series though (Y)

Have you disabled the autosave Graph?  Can apparently make a big difference.  Mine froze once early on, but after disabling the autosave I reckon I had 5-6 more freezes in 130+ hours of play.  Good luck :D.

Playing Sleeping Dogs at this end, enjoying it as well, the story is very well done, and the gameplay, pacing and action is all solid and well put together.  Couple of small bugs every now and again, but that's fairly standard for an open-worlder.  Deffo worth a look for peeps who've got it on PS+, or people that like brawlers and/or open-world games B).

Aye, just gotta learn/re-learn to manually save regularly, like back when before auto-saves were about.  It is a pain, and I was caught out once or twice, but you lose your spot when it freezes as well, and that would have been the bigger issue for me :(.
