Some of it does, the other half is a prequel of sorts.

I think it was about $21/$22, but a bit hazy for memory.

Aye, it's on the borderline.  I still think it was OK for what it was, but it deffo wouldn't qualify as cheap.

The Last of Us passes 6 million sales
And Left Behind is now the highest rated PS3 DLC ever

As we did in 2012, we’ll have a large pack of Dogs giving talks at GDC 2014. We just wrapped up The Last of Us: Left Behind to universal critical acclaim. It currently has a score of 89 on Metacritic making it the highest rated PS3 downloadable content ever. We also recently received five BAFTA awards, including the coveted Best Game in 2014, for our work on The Last of Us.
Posted Image
We’re now heading to GDC to talk about some of the techniques and process that went into making The Last of Us, which has now hit over six million copies sold worldwide, as well as what made Left Behind, our first ever downloadable, single player story chapter, so unique.

The full list of sessions for all Naughty Dog talks, along with dates, times, locations and descriptions, is available on the Naughty Dog blog. Visit the GDC Schedule builder if you want to put these sessions in your calendar, export them or print them out.

What Hasan says!  Don't get too hyped, as a game can only do so much, but I'd rate it as the best adventure/action game I've ever played, and by a reasonable margin as well.  Well, well worth a look at least :D.  Deserves the BAFTAs and sales.

I started a normal playthrough yesterday.

First sequence was a good build up to show it all going down and how it all began. It did build some tension in me while running away, I could not only hear but see the shadows of the runners after you. Also I did think that Joel would sound more gruff and stuff though not that it matters just sounded odd to me since I had for so long created my own voice for him based on what ive read and seen but never actually heard him talk until now.

The time skip was a fair bit longer than I thought it would be, it does give alot of time to wonder how things broke down over time.

First, clickers are annoying Ive never been one for one hit kill deaths in anything so naturally there instakill grab is going to annoy me, I did see a upgrade that can prevent it though.
The first real fight against the runners and a clicker was a bit annoying for me since I couldn't figure out after a few attempts a pattern to stealth kill them all, eventually managed to get by just shooting most of them.

While the runners and human enemies are what you expect really the clickers are interesting in how they function gameplay wise, already noting its best to leave them be when ever possible.

I got up to a bit where you are hanging upside down, failed several times so quit there since I was getting quite annoyed at it. Just cant shoot at all, have a somewhat decent 70% hit rate but in the section I just cant seem to aim at all, I ahve to fend off half of the runners but its the clicker that gets me each time. It doesn't help that the moment it happen first instinct was I'll have to shoot the rope its like cliche you shot out the rope but not this time.

So far I feel they have struck a great balance with combat and non combat areas, while Im not exploring every inch I have enjoyed the down areas giving you a but of tranquillity(and a few surprises) to just walk around and take it all in, it is still quite a good looking game but yeah even though I do have that sinking feeling it will start to increase combat encounters right now I am enjoying the spilt, it giving the game a more realistic feeling and helping give it that post-apocalyptic atmosphere and feel.

Did notice Ellie would hug cover quite closing and it was quite cool when I noticed why she would as Joel and her shared the same spot behind cover and he placed his arm over her onto the cover and lent over her as to protect her was a nice touch compared to the usual tomfoolery that usually occurs when two character try to battle for the same cover.

I am also glad that they have noted that the Ellie AI aint that great and don't punish you for it, I got a nasty jump when I heard an explosion moments after Joel mention'd to Ellie to stay low, turning around it became obvious she just walked straight through the trigger wire.

Also been good to see how it all goes together so far and what is still to come, while I do know some things that happen(mainly a later boss battle and how the end sequence goes, Ellie's situation was predictable without being told though) I didn't really know how Ellie and Joel meet, what roll Tess plays and so forth so its good to see these things or to finally get to see them as I progress, since all the praise its gets has only really played into my curiosity over the years.

So far its been enjoyable apart from the bit I am up to, it has felt like a polished quality game just in look and feel so far it has that detail to make it stand-out and go above the level of good to great, will remain to be seen if that will change in either direction as I continue on.

Great to hear you're enjoying it Spec :).  I can't remember the upside-down bit (sounds like it's time for me to play it again ;)), but there were definitely some tough bits, but none that got the better of me (playing through on normal, none of this survivor shenanigans!), so don't think it's going to suddenly smash you in a way that won't let you procede or anything like that (and good luck getting past this bit).  From memory (noting it's not very good :)), they mix the gameplay up pretty well, so you get a good balance of gameplay, stealth and fighting throughout, although the tempo of gameplay does change as you learn the mechanics and upgrade more.

I managed to pass it, though it went on longer then I at first thought.

You can really appreciate the games self awareness at times with how the characters talk, mentioning when you go off to search an area and such. Really does add to the overall feeling of it, helping create a level of believable immersion.

One thing that is standing out to me quite a lot gameplay wise unless I'm somehow missing it is the lack of cover based combat. It's equally perplexing to me since they had it in Uncharted, and also coming from playing Fuse of recent the lack of a cover grab is very noticeable and several occasions I have just been wishing for it. Just feels with stealth being such a large part of the gameplay that it's a large omission from the gameplay and stops it from reaching the top echelon for gameplay as so far everything else is solid.

Got up to a part I had read was quite intense. I think knowing that something was going to happen made it build the tension even more as I was creeping around. Kind of brings me back to Uncharted 1 and the underground base level on it.

Companion wise it's a bit amusing to see the AI just run around completely ignored by the enemy if you remain undetected. A little immersion breaking but definitely the right choice for them to make to avoid frustration so I'm glad that they noted this and took it the direction they did.

Around 6 hours in so far, hoping for it to last around 12-15 hours overall, for me that's a good length for these types of games for first playthroughs.
