Interesting, I wonder what the theme park business is like these days?  Would be great if it was good and worked out :D.

The funny thing is - it can... just load up Windows via Boot Camp. I think the sad thing is you can't run OSX on most PCs... unless it's a Hackintosh. Would love to have OSX running on my PC, that way I could get rid of my Mac.

Back after losing our internet connection. Fuck, dealing with them is the worst. Communication companies can't communicate and our countries infrastructure and management of it is a mess with Telstra at the top of that. Making it as hard as they can for other providers. Huge reason why the NBN was going ahead in the first place. ARGH, end rant.

It's odd that I hear so many people having problems with Bigpond. I've been using them for 10+ years and although (very rarely) my internet is down temporarily, they usually warn me with a text message in advance (because they're servicing the area). Although I have read that Bigpond is better in Sydney than some other states.

I'm actually with Internode, but maintenance responsibility will usually still fall under Telstra. I'm sure if you're a direct customer they look after you fine :/

Aye, I'm a direct customer and have had one 'painful' problem in a bit over fifteen years - but as you say, they've got an incentive to look after direct customers more than third-parties.  This is the reason that management of shared infrastructure makes more sense in public hands.  By all means market-test and contract out the management, but not to someone with a conflict of interest over who to service (ie, someone with customers as well as infrastructure management responsibilities like Telstra).  You have my sympathies, here's hoping it's the last problem in a good long while :).

Yeah an independent tech guy from both internode and telstra came out today and pretty much said it's a known fact in the industry that Telstra will fudge fault records willingly onsite. All a bit daft.

After something like 9 years my Motorola L6 has started to literally fall apart, so I got a new phone, a Lumia 532.Since I'm with Telstra already I grabbed a pre-paid version of it for $29.

It is nice to have a touch screen phone after all this time still typing sms with a keypad, taking for ever.

I did look at more expensive phones up to $400 but just couldn't be entirely happy with anything so went cheap so I wouldn't mind too much. I can't really go wrong for $29.
