Hoping to watch ex machina soon

Yeah - that wasn't too bad... certainly original and a little thought provoking.

GotG was awesome. Seemed to have that perfect balance of everything... reminded me a lot of the original Star Wars films. Definitely hope they make more of them.

Check out a movie called Predestination - it's a little bit like Looper. Also a movie called Snowpiercer. Then there's the more obvious ones like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Days of Future Past and Edge of Tomorrow.

Last year was great for sci-fi - a lot of quality movies.

Got around to watching Snowpiercer it was mostly good the ending was just so-so for me after the rest of the movie.

Snowpiercer movie spoilers
Spoiler

I watched Days of Future Past a bit back it was good. I found it a clever way to I guess "erase" the other movies though there was a brief moment at the end when I wonder did if it just erased the point of me watching the movies in the past :P

Have Edge of Tomorrow recorded to watch for a while now as well so it will be sometime soon hopefully.

Good to hear mate - yeah, I wouldn't call Snow Piercer perfect... but I think just to have some scifi movies that are good or even great is something we didn't have for a long long time. Edge of Tomorrow I personally love... great popcorn flick.

I have a feeling James Cameron only endorsed Genisys because he's going to be extremely happy when the the property rights revert back to him lol.

It wasn't awful.
But why they just didn't do the war in the future and finish it with sending Reese back in time, thus closing the loop is beyond me.. It's the movie we deserve lol..

San andreas: Meh nearly fell asleep.
Mad Max: Was good, no real complaints.
Insurgent: Pretty good. If you enjoyed the first you'll like this.
Get Hard: Can get FC#Ked, waste of time.
Poltergeist: Could've done much, much better. Was a let down big time.
Insidious Chapter 3: If you enjoyed the other 2, will enjoy this.
Lazurus effect: Not bad for what it was
Into the storm: For a tornado movie i enjoyed it. Like a modern Twister, just without the flying cow haha.

Watched "If I had Wings" on Netflix yesterday, pretty good for an uplifting feelgood movie, worth a watch if looking for something like that :).

Watched The 300 Spartans (1962). Not particularly good. Not particularly accurate either. :P

Counter-balanced that by watching Casablanca (1942) for the umpteenth time. That film never gets old.

Been going through a few old classics... this scene (the first part) always cracks me up...

You have to watch the whole movie (everything before) to really get it I suppose.

Classic thriller-tastic B).  Been watching more TV than movies on Netflix of late, although watched JFK on it a week or two ago and was quite impressed.  Very entertaining for a movie that involves an awful lot of talking in it!

So it's basically Ben Bova's books with more action and less substance.

Looks interesting, although as you both say, could lack a little on the substance part, but you never know - they tend to struggle to fit much in the way of substance into trailers even for movies that have it.  Surprised with all that high-tech jiggery-pokery they couldn't design some kind of scanner to 'look' through the cloud, but that'd ruin the suspense, eh? ;)

Rewatched Mad Max after grabbing a copy. One of the best films this year at this point and for awhile.. Appreciated even more than I did in the theatre. Bit of an action renaissance going on lately. Dredd comes to mind too.
