Enjoying Netflix, and being able to pick stuff to watch that I might not otherwise, because it's a bit iffy but there's no extra cost :).  Along that vein, just finished watching "Max Manus", which was a great little flick about a Norwegian resistance fighter during WW2.  Recommend it for fans of WW2/history/Norwegians :).

On the flip side, also watched "He Who Dares", a fairly generic, poorly acted, action flick.  Recommend avoiding, in that uncomfortable place between not very good at all and so bad it's good.  If it only did its action shots a tiny bit worse (they're bad, don't get me wrong), it might be bad enough to be a little better, if that makes any sense :).

Max Manus

Thanks mate - haven't seen it or didn't know about it... just watched enough of the trailer to get a gist of it (without ruining it). Love those types of films (WW2/History) so definitely onto it.

Been rewatching the Matrix, great to revisit the series. Not many films with digital effects hold up but they have surprisingly well. They really were shot beautifully. Hadn't seen any of them for quite awhile. Even found myself getting reeeally tense in Reloaded around the highway sequence hahaha.

It's bloody great they've got the proper voice over guys for Ratchet, Clank, Nefarious and Quark - they did a great job in the games, no reason they couldn't do just as good a job in an animated flick.  Looking forward to this one, cheers for the news Super-Spec :D.

Yeah - I've got the Australian DVD as well which is Escape from Absolom. Only worked it out last night that it was called No Escape in the US.

It's not the first film where there are different titles (in different countries)... eg. Mad Max 2 is The Road Warrior in the US (which I'm sure you already knew).

District 9 was a way better movie as Hasan said. Chappie needs to be dismantled and thrown in a scrap bin with all the other robot rejects. haha.

I didn't mind Chappie, thought they did a pretty good job with it whereas I found District 9 a bit annoying if a bit more interesting.

Yeah i feel the same ^

Took me a couple watches to get into District 9. First half of the film always turned me off it with the whole "Documentry" style of it.
Only watched Chappie once and i enjoyed it.

So i still have hope for the new Aliens movie.

Holy fuck was Mad Max Fury Road spectacular. It really is an event to see such fantastic practical effects/stunts when in film right now it's saturated with flashy, artificial cgi like the standard Marvel fair. Hoping to see it a few more times before it leaves the cinema.
