well i've finished it, think i might do a replay on easy or something to knock over challenges.

Go for the AP rounds. Makes life so much easier.

Probably the only game ive played over on hardest difficulty more than once and not smash a controller xD

do you mean the armor piercing bullets ??

also last time i played borderlands 2 something messed up.  everything was 2 or 3 levels too high for me after some mates joined my game.  every enemy was too high a level, every item i picked up was too high a level & it was a real struggle to progress (as literally every group of bad guys i encountered used up all my ammo & health & i had to go back & buy more each time).  hoping it's not like that next time i load it up.

Yep.

When people join, the game gets harder. Though levels of enemies depend on host and how far you've progressed.
Your mates probably rushed you through areas and you didnt level up enough.

Though mind you, i killed the warrior being level 22 to its level 31 haha. Painful times >.>

yeah they joined me, but didn't seem to rush me through & it said the enemies grew stronger etc, but when they left the enemies didn't come down in level.

also we picked up a guy that stayed at spawn & let us get all the points, took me a while to realise i could kick him haha.

Gone Home - Not sure why this game got so much praise, I mean the concept is interesting from a story telling perspective but the story itself is bad. Cliched and very predictable. I knew exactly where it was going from the first 10min,  Oh and it was only 1hr long. So I guess that lessens the disappointment.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - Now this what I'm talking about. The puzzle gameplay is very interesting. It's like co-op but with yourself. Again it's a short game (3hrs) but a very satisfying short game. (I couldn't put it down). The art direction was superbe as well, plus it had a very emotional story.

Sounds good Aro - really liked the sound of Brothers (and Gone Home, but not quite as much), reckon that'll have to go on the 'must-play' list :D.

what sort of $$$ were those games if they were so short ??  i really hate paying upwards of $60 for a game with a 3 hour or so campaign.

Giving Alan Wake on PC a run atm (with a Dualshock 4, rather than mouse/kb) and quite enjoying it - some of the mechanics and game design are a bit clunky, and the animation is definitely early last-gen, but the atmosphere, story, voice acting and pacing are all spot on - one of the more quality survival horrors to get released last gen, surprised it didn't get more attention but suspect it may have been a bit thoughtful for the core Xbox audience.

I love Alan Wake. One of my favorite games.  I really hope they get around to making another one.

one of the guys at work is playing a game in alpha called Rust at the moment, sounds like he's really enjoying it if any one is after a game to try.

personally i'm getting really sick of borderlands 2, it's just so repetitive & the long distance sniping is really sh!tting me off (it was really good in B1, but in B2 the enemies more often than not only appear when you're close & the edge detection on most of the landscape is really off so your shot hits the terrain even if it's a long way off it).

BL2 is probably even more about the loot and coop than BL1, so it'll deffo grate a bit if you're not getting into it through that angle (and my PS3's off wandering again, so I can't help with that atm, or I'd jump in and tell bad jokes until you'd forgot about the bad edge detection).  The story's a fair bit better than the first, and the gameplay a bit more varied, but as a SP game it does get a bit trudgy.

About 2/3rds through Alan Wake now and very impressed, would rate this as the best not-also-available-on-PS3 game on X360 now, along with Metro:Last Light.  Deffo recommend it to survival horror fans, or people that don't mind survival-horror and enjoy gaming :D.

Finished off Alan Wake and it was very good, well worth a look for fans of survival horror, reckon it probably got treated a bit harshly the first time around.  The only issues I had with it was that the camera got caught behind trees every now and again, and that the jumping mechanics needed work, but the camera issue wasn't a biggy, and there wasn't much jumping needed, and it didn't ask more than the mechanic could provide.  Story and pacing was generally excellent, voice acting top-notch, and given I got it for $4 in a Steam sale, I can't knock the value either ;).

i've been trying that dragon age origins.  it feels pretty old & at first i was really annoyed by how you simply walked up to an enemy & pressed X & it auto-faught, but it's becoming a bit better as the story develops.  I can see it being a pretty big/long game though, should get my $6 worth out of it lol.

Couldn't agreed more. One of my favs of the gen. It mixes every genre I love. Also, it has just an amazing soundtrack. Some of those music queues gave me shills.

Just finished Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and i have to say. It was pretty good. However, i wouldn't say that it was 'AMAZING!'. I watched a bit of a video from Total Biscuit saying that it was his favourite game of the year or something along those lines. Said that it made him cry as did quite a few others on the web. Maybe i am heartless, but it didn't hit me nearly as much. I think that The Last of Us was much more emotional. (not even close to the same game, but just used it as a reference point)

Still a good game though, interesting mechanics and nice art design.
