Have you looked at Dirt Rally and Assetto Corsa on PS4 GC? I ordered the T3PA Pro pedals today for Assetto, it'll be good to get into a true sim on PS4, I'm not sure about Dirt though as I didn't rate Dirt 3.

Got them both on the PC mate. Did you get a shifter - or you already got one?

I have decided to wait for the shifter, IF I can manage to wait long enough it gives Lara a birthday present idea. What is your view on Dirt? Better than Dirt 3? More like the Colin McRae games of old?

Definitely more old school and unforgiving. It's not easy... you can't fang through one stage and get a top time first go like Dirt 3.

Assetto Corsa - very mild on the car/track list but driving-wise the best I've ever played. Mod support on PC helped boost the car/track list though... console, you obviously won't get that.

started dark souls 3, some initial thoughts;

- little bit of hand holding at the start with prompts to do this & do that

- initial enemies are VERY easy to kill, too easy

- first boss is nice & unforgiving, also a mini boss (crystal lizard) which is nice & tough also

- i have a white soap stone to be summoned into other worlds, but not a soap stone to leave messages yet, hoping to find one soon or maybe i've missed something

- graphics aren't actually that great.  i'd say the armor in dark souls 2 looked better, more metal etc than how it is on ds3

- performance isn't very good at all.  first area i had everything maxed out, game was silky smooth at all times.  next area (fire shrine) it sh!t its pants, chugging along maybe just above 30fps.  i've now let the game detect best settings & it's fine again, but obviously some things are now on high rather than max (no idea what, i'm not interested in stopping/starting after changing sh!t, would rather play)

- i can't properly figure out the new attack bar (blue), i can use it somewhat when twin handing my estoc to do a 'shield smash', but it's pretty terrible.  guessing other weapons would be better, but atm it's actually a disadvantage to use it

all up (initial impressions, sub 3 hour play), dark souls 2 right from the start was better in every way, hoping dark souls 3 for me will improve as i progress.  it's certainly got me into it, but it's just lacking in a few areas right now.

last night in a new area i ended up summoning a couple of guys who basically took me on a speed run through the next area, after being stuck in the area prior for ages lol.  going to have to go back & have a really good explore on my own, they did take me to all the loot etc, but i'd rather just do it at my own pace & number of deaths.

think i'm level 25 now, started on level 9.  still wearing all original gear & original weapons as haven't found anything that appears better suited at this stage.

did try starting a new game as well as a thief.  i just wasn't good enough to defeat the first boss with the amount of health the thief has & the amount of damage he deals.

I found I was able to leave messages straight away, it's in between inventory and options when you bring up the menu.

The blue bar is basically the magic bar but certain weapons and shields have abilities that use that bar. Most have long wind up times so often not safe to use, though some skills are good as they give you buffs.

thanks aro, found that after taking the time to look at what was there properly.

have also found some more bits & bobs when i slowed down & made a point of learning/looking.

with my class the assassin, i've come with a spell called 'spook'.  i've only just began using it, i'm able to sneak up on enemies quite easily now, but the biggest benefit is being able to drop large distances without any damage.  i've also taken time to look at & talk to the people back at the fire shrine i've been meeting, now acquired the magic buff to the sword.  so my 'FP' bar is basically being used for only those 2 things now.

i have to say DS3's really sucked me in now though.  it's not as good as DS2, but it's also nowhere near as hard imo which is a bit of a downfall.  also some of the boss fights are just terrible, way too easy, especially compared to the boss in the first area which i found really tough.

I didn't find Dark Souls 2 to be particularly hard. But to tell the truth I don't think Souls games are all that hard in general.

i'd struggle to find another 3rd person rpg with the same level of difficulty when it comes to combat.  a few have copied it or been compared like lords of the fallen or bound by flame, but they still didn't measure up.  it's certainly harder than say witcher etc where you may only find it difficult in 3 or 4 sections.

Better good late than dodgy early, although if it's out in June I might be a bit late to the party (HoI4 comes out on June 6).  Thanks for the heads-up Clowny :D.

Only delayed by a month - nothing terrible. Hope it's a good game. If it's as good as C&P I'll be very pleased.
