Perfection, Lightning will never disappear :P

Louis Vuitton Presents Series 4: Lightning: A Virtual Heroine by Square Enix

Her name is Lightning and she flashes through fabulous worlds in search of her sister who is being held captive.

Lightning pushes the idea of the heroine even further. It is logical that the Maison Louis Vuitton would explore the infinite possibilities of the virtual world and ask this fantasy character to interpret the essence of a heroine.

Today Lightning, the heroic figure in 'Final Fantasy', the cult series of video games that has inspired more than 100 million players around the world, agrees to become a character in the Louis Vuitton galaxy. The Maison has always pushed the boundaries of reality and dreams. Real, virtual, incarnate, metaphorical: Lightning is the fruit of Square Enix studios' imagination, and she raises the question of immanence - that which takes place solely in the mind - in tomorrow's world.

“It’s clear that the virtual aesthetic of video games is predominant in this collection. If we push the reflection about heroines, or what might constitute the nature of a woman whose actions can be so courageous that she becomes superior and iconic, it becomes obvious that a virtual entity integrates with the founding principles of the Maison. Lightning is the perfect avatar for a global, heroic woman and for a world where social networks and communications are now seamlessly woven into our life. She is also the symbol of new pictorial processes. How can you create an image that goes beyond the classic principles of photography and design? Lightning heralds a new era of expression.” - Nicolas Ghesquière

If you have a good wheel - get it people. It's a little shallow on the content (tracks and cars) but trust me, driving wise, it's the best (I've ever played).

I deduce from your excitement that we should be quite excited Clowny :D.  On the by, I suspect the title may have something to do with the end of the Testament of Sherlock Holmes, although that's just a guess.  Very much looking forward to it, thanks for the heads up B).

Here's a trailer for it - a tad dramatic, but I'm sure Frogwares will deliver :).

Paradox Interactive is planning to go public this year

An IPO is in the cards for Paradox Interactive, as chief Fredrik Wester took to Twitter today to confirm that the 17-year-old company intends to go public this year.

Changes at Microsoft Studios, UK and Denmark
Today, I have some difficult changes to announce that affect some of our Microsoft Studios teams and projects in the UK and Denmark.

After much consideration we have decided to cease development on Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios in the UK. Additionally, we will close Press Play Studios in Denmark, and sunset development on Project Knoxville.

These have been tough decisions and we have not made them lightly, nor are they a reflection on these development teams – we are incredibly fortunate to have the talent, creativity and commitment of the people at these studios. The Lionhead Studios team has delighted millions of fans with the Fable series over the past decade. Press Play imbued the industry with a unique creative spirit behind games like Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Kalimba, which both captured passionate fans. These changes are taking effect as Microsoft Studios continues to focus its investment and development on the games and franchises that fans find most exciting and want to play.

I speak for all of Xbox when I say that despite this news, we remain committed to the development communities in the UK and Europe, and Xbox will continue to support new IP and originality in the games we offer on our platforms, whether they’re AAA blockbusters like Quantum Break from Remedy, adventurous new IPs like Sea of Thievesfrom Rare, or unique new creations from independent developers like Moon Studios with Ori.

We have nothing but heart-felt thanks for the members of Lionhead and Press Play for their contributions to Xbox and gaming. We are committed to working closely with those affected by today’s news to find them new opportunities at Xbox, or partnering with the broader development community to help place them in jobs elsewhere in the games industry should they desire.

Right shame about Lionhead probably closing - their best work was a while ago, but they were a quality studio.  I'm also a little concerned about Paradox's IPO, as more masters means more people to please, and I doubt shareholders are likely to be wise to the nuances of a lot of the games they produce/publish, but we'll see :).  Sad about the other two studios as well, although I've never really heard much of them.  Cheers for the latest all-knowing Spec B).  You're like the oracle of the gaming industry :).

Definitely have had my third eye on this for some time. Whether I have time to play it is another thing.

Fair enough. Plus it comes out along side a lot of other games. I hope it does well cause I do want to play it at some point if not at release

Honestly haven't played anything properly for months... still gotta finish off Rise of the Tomb Raider (I think I sunk around 20hrs into that). Such a great game. But that's just the start of a very very long list as I've written before (and I'm sure you've already seen).

I know I said I was interested in Battleborn but after playing the beta. not anymore. The lag is fucking horrendous, unplayable.

Update: I managed to find a match that had decent ping and found the game to be SO much more enjoyable. I was actually able to contribute and killing people was so much more achievable. (went 15-0) So when the game works, it's fun. However, there is no guarantee that the full release won't be just as laggy. One can hope it's a beta thing.

It says it has servers. Fuck knows where they are though. It could be the low player population playing a factor but couldn't say for sure.

Have you looked at Dirt Rally and Assetto Corsa on PS4 GC? I ordered the T3PA Pro pedals today for Assetto, it'll be good to get into a true sim on PS4, I'm not sure about Dirt though as I didn't rate Dirt 3.
