You don't NEED to play Asylum or City but there is stuff that happens in City that ties into Knight. But as Axe said, why wouldn't you play the other games, they're both excellent.

No Origins is just a pre-sequel about the beginnings of Batman, before Rocksteady's trilogy of Asylum, City and Knight.

I don't think Blackgate is anything either, I haven't played it, its 2.5D game but doubt it would tie in much if any.

I echo the others Rocksteady's first 2 are worth a play, I haven't played Knight or Origins. Depending on how you take to the combat though you could fatigue on playing them all back to back.

This is a good point - I'm not sure I'd recommend playing them back-to-back, as all three in a row might get a bit samey from a gameplay perspective (there is definitely evolution from Asylum to City, and by the sound of it to Knight, but I'd generally recommend mixing things up in any event).  Asylum isn't a long game, took me 10 hours and I'm a notorious slow poke.  City took me 19.  I'd probably recommend slotting another game or two (normal sized, not Oblivion then Skyrim, or something like that) between them, just in case :).

Yeah - people NEED to play this. Addition of children is cruel.

Aye, if they hadn't announced it for PS4 in the next year or so, I would've grabbed it on PC, it looked excellent before you gave it the Clown stamp of approval :).

There's a lot of click to go here, or click this person to select him, or click the stove/oven to cook - if they can devise a simple way to control all these actions (on a controller), then great... it's still definitely more suited for PC though (the way it currently is). I wouldn't want to be using a controller to move around the screen all the time.

Fingers crossed it's a well thought out or even better version.

The devs who made it also did successful console ports of their two anomaly games, which are also pretty 'click to do this', so they've got the experience to get the job done.  That's no guarantee, of course, but at the very least it should be better than the Creative Assembly's attempt at a console RTS (I forget the name, but the interface/UI were terrible ).

Axe - Mount and Blade, good or no good? You have it in your library.

Or should I just wait for 2...

It has a lot of fans, and I gave it a bit of a play, but found the mouse/kb controls fiddly (noting that I'm not a fan of mouse/kb controls for action games, which was a big mark against it from my angle).  I'd probably wait for 2, as the original is fairly old now, and you've already got a decent backlog ;).

Cheers mate - will hold off until 2... yeah, realised it was 2010 or something like that afterwards, not that I don't mind playing some older games.

UBISOFT ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR NEXT-GENERATION THEME PARK IN MALAYSIA

Have you ever played one of Ubisoft’s games and thought, “This is fun and all, but I’d really like to experience it as a theme park ride”? Good news! That wish will soon become reality, now that Ubisoft’s announced plans for a next-generation theme park. Slated to open in 2020 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the park will be a 10,000-square-meter indoor complex featuring rides, shows and other attractions, all built around Ubisoft’s games and characters.

“Ubisoft’s intention for this park is to immerse people in reactive worlds where they can interact with each other and become the heroes of their own life-sized game,” says Jean de Rivières, senior vice president of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, which is leading the project. Having previously produced an award-winning Rabbids dark ride for the Futuroscope theme park in France, Ubisoft Motion Pictures is creating the new park together with Malaysian theme-park developer RSG. RSG will own and operate the park, while Ubisoft will maintain creative control over the attractions.

Few specifics have been revealed about upcoming attractions, but “Ubisoft will produce all digital media for the rides, and help design guests’ journey into the park to ensure the visitors’ experience is at its best,” says Rivières.

“Malaysia is the second-most-visited country in Asia” Rivières adds, citing a 2014 report by the World Tourism Organization. “There is room for multiple projects to take root in the region and a growing middle class with an increasing income and appetite for entertainment.”

That sounds cool B).  A little surprised they didn't try and do something in France, but Malaysia is a lot closer to us, and more likely people from our way would be on holiday there :).

FREE INFINITY BLADE COLLECTION NOW AVAILABLE IN THE UNREAL ENGINE MARKETPLACE

On the heels of yesterday’s Apple Special Event, and with Infinity Blade III going free for the first time ever, there’s one more surprise in store: You can now download thousands of assets from our Infinity Blade Collection for free in the Marketplace!

This content represents a $3 million investment in art and sound design, and we can’t wait to see what you make with it

Posted Image

Snapshot of the Infinity Blade Collection assets, not countiing effects, sound cues, and such

ChAIR Entertainment Creative Director Donald Mustard joined today’s livestream to discuss creating Infinity Blade, one of the most successful mobile franchises to date. We had hinted that there would be a gift to the development community, and this is it!

You’re probably wondering what all is included for the production budget to amount to millions of dollars in content. It’s enough to make an awesome game! Here’s the TLDR on the 7,600 assets shipping in eight packs (all characters are compatible with our standard skeleton):
  • Infinity Blade: Grass Lands is the earthy citadel adorned with stone set pieces and beautiful props.
  • Infinity Blade: Ice Lands is the wintery fort set deep within a glacial enclave.
  • Infinity Blade: Fire Lands is the radiant castle interior laced with unforgiving paths, dramatic props and flowing lava.
  • Infinity Blade: Warriors includes loads of assets for crafting fierce heroes.
  • Infinity Blade: Adversaries has even more content for a making wide variety of rivals.
  • Infinity Blade: Effects gives you visual effects ranging from fire and smoke to lightning and magical reactions.
  • Infinity Blade: Sounds includes thousands of raw audio files and sound cues.
  • Infinity Blade: Weapons presents a vast array of melee weaponry, including never-before-seen swords and axes and also a few Infinity Blade fan favorites.
Most of the content comes from Infinity Blade: Dungeons, which we made here at Epic and chose not to release. While it was a tough decision to make back then, the content is beautifully crafted, and we are happy for you to have it for free. Use it in any Unreal Engine 4 project, no strings attached. We succeed when you succeed.

There are special cameos from released games in the Infinity Blade series, including humorous weapons such as the finger, the lollipop, and the rubber chicken. My personal favorite is the popular Cardboard Hero armor from Infinity Blade II: Vault of Tears.
