FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster steam page, release this Friday, will probably be US$30.

Somewhat tempted not being cross-buy on PS3/PS4 kinda saved my from purchasing it on that. Still feel have spent enough time on them with the PS2 verison and do somewhat worry that present day me might not enjoy it as much and it will harm my much loved memories of them. Still it does call out to me being my favourite game.

Yeah - kinda happy I held off getting this... looking forward to seeing how it turned out. If it's the better version, I'll be getting it on PC now I guess.

^Yes the quality of the port will be interesting. Since their more modern ports haven't been the greatest but Lightening Returns was an improvement over 13 and 13-2 so hopefully this one wont be too troublesome.

This blog post expands on the game boosters

Auto-save and 5 game boosters:
  • Turbo (2x, 4x speed)
  • Supercharge (Characters will have full overdrive meter each turn)
  • Enemy encounter settings (Either increase the frequency of enemy encounters or turn them off)
  • Auto battle mode
  • Hide HUD
3 parameter changes (these can not be turned off once activated)
  • Get 99 of each item in the game (excluding key items)
  • Unlock all skills for all characters
  • Max Gil

I bought it. I could resist it at $24us but then saw $18us or around $25au from GMG which has the game at 20% off plus using the voucher code "FINAL25" to get an extra 25% off and could no longer. If you dont like GMG because of the whole Witcher key fiasco thing next best price I think would be getting it from the square-store its $27.19au so not that much more expensive, after that Humble Bundle and Steam are the same 20% off unless you have a Humble Monthly sub which will take an extra 10% off.

Its 37gb hdd space compressed download is around 34gb I think, so I have to wait a few days for the day before my net usage resets otherwise I will cap the net early and get yelled at but if I time it right I should be able to get all of it included in the current periods usage.

Managed to get my PS2 save into it after getting it from the card to PS3 to usb to pc and converting it. Loaded the AlBhed Primers I had on it(All but a few I missed in the desert) at the first transfer sphere so been able to read the early on Al Bhed. Also glad that I get to keep my 300hour save as well.

I also after a second attempt managed to win the first Blitzball game, I wanted to since I didn't on PS2. Forgot how tough Blitzball was in the beginning especially if sticking with the Original Aurochs team but managed to get over the first hump, levelled a bit and learnt some abilities.

The Remaster faces are a bit odd can see why many don't like them, Wakka and Tidus are somewhat odd looking.

In this second playthrough i'm noticing the clues about Auron that are hinted at early on that I completely missed on my first playthrough so thats kinda cool.

Love the no encounters/frequent encounters and 4x speed adjustments. Makes capturing monster for the arena so quick.

Did the 200 lightening dodges for the first time with my third attempt found a spot online that always triggers a bolt when you walk across it(Did make for some nervous moments the few times it didnt trigger). Got to 10 the first go then 176 then to 211.

Tidus 0.0 Chocobo race wasn't too bad got lucky with the balloon layout the second attempt and smashed it with 15 balloons and only one hit. It was the Hyper Dodger Chocobo that took me a bunch of goes to do.

Kimarhi was annoying, did the North butterfly run in a few attempts then managed to do the Central run first go but I walked too far forward and progressed to the next area which meant it was all for naught. It then took a good many more attempts to do it again while being incredibility annoyed since I had already done it.

I can definitely feel that I'm much stronger stat wise at the same points in the story to my first playthrough nothing giving too much trouble.

I finished this up last night. Got all the FFX achievements but not the achievement for getting all the FFX achievements -__- wanted to get them all done before moving on to FFX-2.

Getting 5 chest in the Chocobo race was much harder then I remember, finally did it but didnt get the prize for five chests since I landed next to the enemy Chocobo on the last corner and it knocked me into the baton but thankfully managed to stay infront.

I cheated and loaded my 300hour PS2 save to complete the sphere grid since they were almost done used them to beat Nemesis which was boring. Just used Yojimbo for Penance tried him a few times but couldn't get a good strategy that wouldnt take me hours to beat him, that second form with its full break sucks. So I used the Zanamato strategy :P, I did look online for strategies but my armours all wrong since I have the what I have realised during this playthrough the useless break mp limit in everyone's armour.

I didn't save beating him though so I can go back and have other attempts at him.

The X4, enemy frequency and auto battle really made capturing and grinding sphere so much quicker.

Was fun playing through it again, glad to have it on PC which I know will last longer then my PS2 plus being able to carry my decade old save is brilliant even managed to get all the Albhed primers on it now off on my new save.
