This is the thing - it only creates a divide and dislike towards the brand (Tomb Raider), the developer, publisher and MS. As you said, if it ever does come to other platforms the damage will be done. As I said and you said too - there's gotta be exclusivity for a set number of years, just like Mass Effect and Bioshock.

still haven't finish or halfway in definitive..not my kind of game I guess. I can see why so many people are pissed off but also think xbox need this kind of exclusive too(dont know if its the right one but hey it sure get everyone fired up!!!)

When will Microsoft learn that it's shit like this that solidify peoples choices to NOT their buy consoles. Square Enix can go jump too. I'm sure the developers themselves are pissed off that they are put in the firing line to explain this crap. No matter how much the marketing budget is they paid for, it's still not worth it in the end.

All this does is bring division.

That didn't take long .  Note how at the Sony press conference, they use words to the effect of 'first on console on PS4' (for things like Runemaster or Hollowpoint, which will surely go to XB1 down the track) and even had a splash screen towards the end making it clear which were Sony-published 'true' exclusives, and which were times, and MS plays marketing BS talk.....

Totally agree - having to admit it's a timed exclusive before its even released on the XB1 makes this less of a sweet deal for Microsoft.  SE, of course, have screwed the pooch - not as badly that it's time exclusive, but clearly plenty of fans have been ticked off over this kind of behaviour, and that'll push some fans on the fence away from it.  All they'd have needed to do on the reveal would be to say it'll be exclusive for Holiday 2015 on XB1 and everyone would know exactly what it meant, and while fans would have been pissed off, they would know they weren't being excluded but would just have to wait.

Still think they should put the money into new IP though - that's the best way to get gamers' respect.

I'm pretty sure they haven't said anything.  If the past is any indication, I'd expect it to be on other platforms 6-12 months after release, but we won't hear about it until 3-6 months before it happens (and deffo not until the initial 'buzz' period from launching on XB1 has settled down).  I'm delaying all interest in the game until then .

It looks good, and am fine with waiting for it to launch on the PS4. I am hoping we get an "ultimate edition", or something along those lines with all the DLC.

That's pretty much what happens anyway - you usually get a superior version.
