you gotta get Knights of the Old Republic graph. It's the game bioware made before the mass effect games. so it's fairly similar but in the star wars universe. oldish game now but runs like a dream on the ipad. hammering it on my daily commute

Aye, KOTOR is similar to ME in structure, and well worth a play - would probably recommend on PC before touch, but either would be fun B).

XCOM: ENEMY UNKNOWN is up iOS app store now. $20.99, 1.86gb.
Only runs on the latest devices so its a no go for me but the price would have stopped me anyways.

***NOTE: Compatible with iPad 2 and up, iPad mini. iPod touch 5 and up and iPhone 4S and up – WILL NOT RUN ON EARLIER DEVICES***

Inifinity Blade II 99c iOS

I haven't played it much but its the same gameplay as I so if you still want more repetitive hacking and slashing you will like II.

Colin McRae Rally for iOS $5.49, 243mb

Quote

From the developers of the multi-million selling franchise and based on content from the 90% Metacritic rated Colin McRae Rally 2.0, Colin McRae Rally for iPhone and iPad features THIRTY amazing rally stages with a combined distance of over 130km. Go flat out through the dirt of the Australian outback, take on dramatic climbs through the mountains of Greece and get sideways on the tight and twisty roads of Corsica.

THE CARS
Get behind the wheel of legendary rally cars, the Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, Lancia Stratos and Colin McRae’s Ford Focus. Pace notes read by professional rally co-driver Nicky Grist help you fully commit through each and every stage.

THE CONTROL
With the critically acclaimed Colin McRae Rally handling, damage and physics model under the hood, feel the thrill of putting pedal to metal across different surface types and blast through beautiful, challenging environments.

THE CHALLENGE
Take on different game modes including quick races, full rallies and Championships and customise your experience with different controls schemes and views. Post your best time to the leaderboards and unlock achievements with full Game Center support.

And as I suspected my iPod is too old to run it :( .

iOS Peggle iPod/iPhone and iPad version free.

Many hours sunk into the PC version of this, the iOS version while fun not as good from a gameplay perspective. Suffering on my iPod from a aim, pause, shoot rather then aiming and shooting simultaneously on the PC makes lining up bucket shots more difficult.

More free games
iOS Mirror's Edge iPod/iPhone and iPad. I played a bit of this until I got stuck and couldn't get past it but it was nice little side-scroller.
iOS The Sims™ Medieval
iOS Dead Space iPod/iPhone iPad similar controls to Mass Effect: Infiltrator. Another iOS game I haven't finished but I will one day.

edit:
iOS Flight Control iPod/iPhone and iPad I don't find it as good as the PC version not as forgiving when lining up aircraft to land.

Yay Plants vs Zombies 2 is on the iOS store.

Its free thanks to EA stuffing it full of IAP though, I just hope they don't affect the game too bad.

PvZ2 ruined.

Everything starts off fine until you finish the first area but can't continue because you don't have enough stars and to get more stars you have to repeat the levels you just did up to 3 more times, each with a different challenge some of which it would seem power up and plant food use is a necessity to pass. There are plants and upgrades locked behind walls were you can grind for keys or pay for them and some off the old mainstays so far seem only accessible by paying for them. Plus it somehow looks worse than 1 I don't like this new style direction.

And this is why I don't like F2P - I don't want to 'game' with my money, much prefer paying entry up-front and enjoying game design, not 'money extraction design'.  Needless to say, am a little nervous about WAR THUNDER being F2P as well.  Hopefully I can put a decent amount down at the start and just play like it's not, or I'll be grumpy.

Some rough/random thoughts I put together about Dead Space on iOS.

Played Dead Space and its a pretty good mobile version of a Dead Space full game.
It gives some insights into events in Dead Space 2.

Gameplay is pretty good though touch issues did show up like reloading when trying to pick things up and being unable to shoot if standing on ammo that you have max of (it tries to pick it up over an over), thankfully they weren't common and a little step the the L/R fixed it.

I did feel the amount of enemies in later battles was too large(for a Dead Space), lack of enemy variety didn't help and felt a bit of trying to extend the game. I got 3+ hours out of it so I think that was good. It did crash over and over at 1 point until I restarted my iPod.

It did a good job of feeling like a full dead space(more DS2) game comprised down to mobile size(outside of the larger battles). The sounds, weapons(bar 1 new one) environments, atmosphere all felt immediately familiar.

The touch prompts when grabbed were implemented quite well with it closely imitating what you were doing.

I liked the little hallucination moments.

It also has to horde modes, an endless and timed one I didn't venture too much into then but you can get credits for the main game through them and I also liked that it had separate profiles.

All in I enjoyed it, like most iOS game would be better on a larger screen and could do without the crashing but it was worth the 99c.

Nice one Spec B).  I tried it on iOS and found the transition to touch a bit much, but the game design and implementation, for a touchscreen action game, was excellent :D.
