That too lol. I'm running on a GTX 670 so I am struggling a bit even without Hairworks (because your worth it, Geralt). Mix of medium and high and I'm good.

Wondering if it looks better running it on a 670 than it does on a PS4? Just curious.

Not sure either and it was a bit of a toss up for me which I was going to go with too. Might be on par visually though I do have an i7 so bit more going on under the hood with physx, destruction effects etc.
No problems with the more demanding areas either so far which apparently can make the ps4 drop from a fixed 30 frames to 20 occasionally too.

You'd probably get better draw distances as well... so what FPS are you getting - 60FPS?

...anyway - thanks, was just curious as said.

I'm guessing it won't be quite as pretty but it is still a beautiful looking game, I love the effort they have put into it with the little details, just pull up somewhere in the wilds and listen to the trees. I have noticed the framerate drop occasionally but it is just a momentary stutter and I have only noticed it after a transition so it's not a game breaker.

Initially I had around 60 but it was pretty variable, so I ended up just locking it to 30fps which allowed some settings to go up a bit more.

60 isn't absolutely necessary with this sort of game anyway... makes it more cinematic. haha.

Yeah - incredible amount of detail, particularly compared to something like Skyrim. I like all the little stories (side missions) - they each have a little more meaning/story to them than the usual open world.

Ah man, you guys make me want to play this game so bad. I got started and then life got in the way and I've been chomping at the bit to get back into it. :yikes:

I agree about the side missions. I like that they are like little vignettes of the world and most are mutli-staged and give you choices. So much better than go here, kill 20 of this. Now go here, collect 20 of that.

Yesterday was the only day I really got a chance to play it - but I've only still put in probably 4-5 hours (tops) all up... still stuck in that first area doing everything there first. I'll be getting on tonight again though... at least, that's the plan.

I've been basically using my Witcher sense everywhere and there's so many hidden places you wouldn't know. You also have to use that telekinesis power to get to most of them as well. Under houses - all sorts of stuff.

On the topic of side quests, i completely agree. And i like how they mesh together and stuff too.
This may be a very MILD spoiler, but i had saved this guy from some drowners early on in the game, and once i had gotten to Velen, i had come across him again. This time however, he was with a bunch of thugs/bandits... He says something along the lines of being able to pay me back because of his sudden wealth. You get the choice of taking the money or turning it down. Ended up killing him and the rest of those fuckers!

Also like the instances of where you might find some treasure with some dead bodies nearby, or clear out an area of bandits and see the notes left behind by the smuggler/people that lived in the area, which even has that little bit of backstory, and makes you appreciate the effort that the devs have put in.

Only a few hours in myself, and already had a few side quests come back into play.   I need to do some reading up on crafting, alchemy and dismantling stuff as I am pretty sure I got carried away dismantling things I shouldnt have :)

I've picked up so much loot it's ridiculous (is there even a limit?) - might have to do the same and do some reading into it.

Yeah I'm running on Ubisoft's cinematic setting lol!

This is the first open world rpg where all the side quests have actually been extremely interesting and feel a part of the world.

I absolutely love the new alchemy system as well in that you only need to create a potion once and then top it up as you meditate, makes it much more manageable going around looking for ingredients just to make new mixes and more fun not having to worry about the old ones constantly.

I would still like some sort of stash system, if only to organize all the books you get, I'd rather keep them then sell them off.

Also, buy the saddlebags for your horse as soon as you can. Bumps your inventory from 60 weight to 90.

Did some reading, will be selling most of my 'junk' stuff initially, and just let things build up.  Seems neither is overly important at my very low level :)   Plus I need the $$ for repairing stuff.

Will definitely keep my eyes open for some saddlebags H.

Yeah - I did buy one from a guy at one of the towns (or should that be village because they're so small)... but not because I needed one / ran out of room.

I bought the saddlebags last night but should have bought them earlier, the merchant in the first town should have a set Jyks.
