Not a bad thought at all .  Can't say I go ga-ga over the HL games like a lot of PC gamers - but while I personally can live without 'em (I enjoy them, I just find them 'good' rather than the 'OMGbestFPSeverreleasedsoinnovativecan'tgetenoughof them' from a lot of fans), I know it'd make a lot of PC gamers very happy .

Really? I think HL2 is still one of the best FPS games ever. I'd be tossing up between that and Bioshock (original). I still play through it from time to time. Ep. 1 wasn't that great but Ep. 2 was back up to standards.

Aye, it's just how I found 'em, promise I'm not trying to be 'edgy' for the sake of controversy .  They're good, don't get me wrong, but I've never felt the urge to replay them, and found 'em a but hum-drum.  They were really just linear shooters, with not much in the way of story and only a couple of interesting characters.  Gunplay was vanilla - not bad, but not good.  Gravity gun was interesting, but only used it m'self when forced too, found the gunplay more satisfying.  That's just me though - there's a small number of huge hits (Zelda's the other big one) that never gelled with me.  Personal taste and all that.  Same way I go nutso over Birds of Steel, and everyone else looks at me as if I'm a little odd .

The original Deus Ex, on the other hand, I definitely go ga-ga over .

The only "flight" game i went nuts over was the old Ace Combat games on PS1..and this very poorly made game called Star Ixion..after that i found out about rpgs and never went back...


EDIT: LIes! I also went nuts over Crimson Sky on the original xbox (still one of my favourite games)

So you actually played it when it first released? I think for the time it was definitely innovative. It introduced scripted events and a woven story. I think the pacing was nigh flawless and the aesthetic still stands up well today. And although it was linear, which most shooters still are at present, most times it didn't funnel you down tight corridors like most shooters back then. Also the physics were a stand out - that same engine is still being used in games today, from 8 years ago. And definitely not arguing about Deus Ex - completely forgot to add that to the list of greats, although Zelda Ocarina was brilliant for its time as well but that's for another discussion. Anyway, gotta get back to work - it's too easy to bludge at home!

Hope BO2 turns out alright. There are just no decent online shooters anymore. (Not saying CoD is, just better than what's on offer). Can't scratch my FPS itch.

Playing through the rest of Deus Ex Human Revolution. Can't believe it's taken me this long to go back and revisit it to finish it off. Took me a while to get my bearings - dropped in mid-level and completely forgot all the controls and where the hell I was. GG.

All the reviews have suggested this was a worthy addition to the franchise - as it was SP, I hadn't got around to it (tend to prioritise MP to play with the good peeps around here ), but it's now downloaded on my HDD and I'm keen .  Great to hear it went well .

In other news, the richest economy in the world (US) also has poverty rates close to twice that of the developed world in general - right shame, here's hoping they can sort themselves out.  Maybe if they played Aussie Rules instead of NFL things would be better?

Yeah, was a bit like that at first. Went gangnam style at a group of enemies. Forgot you pretty much die instantly when you get shot (that's how I've got my character specced). Got to the end boss today though, so will finish that off some time throughout the week. All the boss fights have sucked in this game - pity, when the rest of the game is so good.

I think it's the fact that every crossbow now deals instead of 10% HP..ITS 99% HP

I love the lack of ammo drops
I also love the 1hr + to sometimes defeat an early stage boss
But I definately love when sheva runs 5m forward, stops, turns around then dies to a zombie cough

I'm up to Chapter 5-2 though
So close to the gold trophy
