Well into the second half of season three now, and as soon as it went from being character to plot focussed it was time to turn the brain off again.  Still, entertaining as long as you don't think about it too much (or, indeed, at all), but still reckon if it's going to have plots that make the Roger Moore Bond films look serious, it shouldn't take itself _quite_ so seriously.  If it could match its tone to the quality of its plot (or, more optimistically, the quality of its plot to its tone), it would potentially be a true classic.

Aye.  Game of Thrones is odd - on some levels it's really top-notch, best in the business (acting, casting, sets and audio comfortably sit there), but then Martin does some silly, crazy things with the plot.  If it was just terrible, it'd be easy to ignore, but instead you see this really promising build-up, with well put together characters and generally solid writing, brilliantly acted on top notch sets/locations, to be let down by plot developments that just don't hold water.  It is excellent, it's just crazy inconsistent at times.

Makes you wonder just how awesome the season ending is going to be :D
Apparently there's so much CG in some event coming up that they won't have it finished until June :D :D
