I just did two laps of Mt Panorama in iRacing in a RuF GT3 to get a time of 2:17 and after four laps in the same car in Project Cars with Pro settings the best I could get was 2:31. The car just feels more like it should with a car of that horsepower with edge of the seat handling if you are pushing too hard and it punishes you a lot more for being off the racing line and I can feel it in the shoulders, the car just felt light in iRacing and it was a lot more forgiving even with TC turned off. They have a long way to go with damage in PCars though as it seems it is turned off totally atm.

More to come.....

Project CARS on PS4: 6 things we love!

Those HUD options are ridiculous, speaker use could maybe get annoying.

i really didn't need to watch that, a lot of it i'd already had a fiddle with, but being able to alter the hud like that is brilliant.  i do think the voice of the stig would be more a nuisance than anything.

being serious the visuals etc might be far better on pc, but the actual online & social aspect of it will be 1000x better on console.  if only my fücking g27 would work on ps4, i just can't justify buying a wheel & console to play it, console yep, but not both.

Well that's it really - I got that bump out of the way... it's ridiculous I had to pay $500 for it but I would have ended up getting it eventually anyway. I'll get the pedals when it releases probably. I'm easy either way, this wheel will work on both but it's really about numbers as well. Graphics I don't care too much for as long as it's good clean racing.

my best fun in racing games is racing with guys i know on GT5.  would've been boring racing with strangers or just AI all the time.

This, we had some really, really good GT5 sessions - I reckon online racing really relies on a good community for fun, or you get a bunch of peeps just barging through the pack all the time.

I feel your pain with shelling out for that wheel but if it makes you feel any better I know a bloke who just spent $2300 on his wheel. And as far as the other question goes I'll be getting it on PS4 and maybe on PC later but I prefer the attitude of console gamers, the iRacing community has a lot of good people but a huge number of knobs as well whereas we can race with our own on console.

if you're flat out keen to use the wheel why not try something on the little more 'fun' side of sim racer, like something that's between arcade & sim like dirt 3 (fück yes !!!), shift 2 (that would look nuts on your pc) or grid ?  that way you won't fully play your self out for sim games before the big one drops ?

Don't touch Dirt 3 till Codemasters feels like patching games for windows live out of it you'd just get annoyed at having to fiddle around with workarounds to get it to save and stuff.

Dirt 3 I have on PS3, just couldn't be arsed plugging it in all the time (now that I rarely use it). I was thinking of getting one of the F1's (haven't played one since 2012) but Codemasters are releasing 2015 earlier than usual this year. It's been made for the new consoles as well so they've updated it quite a bit.... so gonna hold off for that.

@ spec:i didn't have any trouble with save games etc, was a pain doing the initial gfwl thing, but after that just ran like i normal game.

Yeah but it has that Gymkhana crap on it... Codemasters really need to make a 'proper' rally game again.

A big +1 to this!  On the by, does Project CARS have any rally stuff in it, or is it strictly tarmac?
