i'm wondering if we can scrounge up enough guys for some kinda league here on GG after it launches, but need some idea of who's getting it & on what system.

so please click on the poll & chuck up a post =)

There's already a league organised at NGG Graph - I posted it up about 6 months ago. I'm not sure if there'd be someone willing enough to put the effort into it as DaMorgs would... I used to drive in their GT5 one for a while and it had good rules and decent enough drivers. I'm getting it on PS4 but I'll need to buy a wheel first because of the Logitech fiasco. It's a good $500 for a decent one which is something I don't particularly want to dish out with the amount of gaming I do these days and I'm not playing Project Cars with a fucking controller. Fuck you Logitech - sorry slight case of Tourettes.

actually i remember you posting that other thread lol, i'm just too amped for it.

it's not really logitech's fault the whole wheel thing, more what we've been laughing at that MS did for years in closing their system off & not allowing unlicensed products (with that verified thing) which chinese knockoffs go around anyway.  it's a real shame as it only punishes the legit makers & the players as we have to buy new hardware when there's nothing wrong with what we have existing.

i ran some pretty good sized GT5 leagues back in the day, i'd be willing to give project cars a good go if i can get numbers, but i think it'd mean me playing it on ps4 (which means buying game + ps4 + wheel which is over a grand to do what i can already do on the pc, but the online 'community' isn't as inviting imo).

I don't mind buying the wheel but I probably won't have time to play it so I'm just contemplating whether it's worth throwing the money away or not. If I had time to game more - I'd have got one already.

I'll almost definitely give it a look, although I suspect I won't get it until sometime in the first half of next year once I've had my fill of DriveClub.  Game does look very good, and it has Bathurst as well :D.

I bit the bullet and bought the T300RS GC, it arrived today and feels very similar to my G27, I'm not happy I had to buy the wheel but at least it is a good wheel, I have decided to get the pedals and shifter later on to spread the cost.

any reason why you went the 300 over the 500 (apart from initial outlay) ?  the 500 looked like a monster of a wheel/pedal combo when it released, not sure if anything has come along to knock it over for the playstation.

The T300 isn't any different to the T500 (motor wise) except for the pedals and the wheel - although the Playstation wheel looks better than the plastic Ferrari one. The T300 comes stock with pretty shitty pedals BUT you can upgrade them to pedals which are 'apparently' better (in feel) than the stock T500 ones (apart from being able to flip them).... and if you want a shifter that's additional as well. You can also update the wheel should you want to.

Can anyone find it cheaper than this?

I'm not sure if that is $479 plus postage but it is $499 delivered from www.pagnianimports.com.au and they have excellent service. I bought the 300 because I couldn't find proof the 500 is compatible.

i'd much rather play project cars on the ps4 & online, but it's killing me that it'd mean all this outlay for stuff i already have ='(

Yeah - bloody ridiculous... particularly when I might not end up playing it that much.

yeah that's another thing.  if it's great & everyone stays on it then i'll get a ton of use like GT5.  but if it's mediocre & people move away quickly then it'll all sit there collecting dust.

I totally agree, I waited until DC was released with the faint hope that the G27 would work before I ordered the T300 and had to play with a DS4 while I was waiting, I didn't play much.

As long as it is like the PC version that I have been running you will have no fear, it will make GT5 look and feel like NFS.

After a tip off from graph  I went a looking on GAF and it seems that it might have been delayed till March next year.

Rumours are that there should be a press release stating it in the next 24 hours so I guess we just wait and see if its true.

i read the press release this morning, had today's date on it & everything but didn't know if it was bogus or not (file name was like PC17OctXXXX.pdf) & i forgot to post anything here.  now it's all over the place saying it's delayed, would've been good for us to post to n4g at the time as it would've been a bit of a scoop it seems.

Well spotted Graph, shame it's been delayed (suits me quite well, can go DriveClub-crazy this year and early next, then CARS next year - but I know there were a bunch of peeps keen on just Project CARS) - hopefully will mean it's a bit more successful, as it won't be 'clashing' with DriveClub/Forza Horizon 2 (I know they're different games, but there's still a bit of overlap in audience).

GT5 was wrought with issues when trying to launch (was it delayed by 2 or 3 years in the end ???), i hope project cars doesn't face the same problems.
