Looking around here, seems to me that maybe I'm the only one having issues with the PS4. She's starting to spit my disk out (and I prefer her to swallow) and so far looking on forums ets I've pretty much tried everything except the pulling apart and tightening/loosening some screw (which I wont do). Have left a message with Mr Sony to get back to me, in the meantime any one else have any ideas/success stories you would like to share?

And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. Is your PS4 laying flat down on a surface?

The eject touch button is super sensitive so what I ended up doing to fix the problem was to put a book underneath the PS4, but with the front of the unit hanging over a ledge so to speak so that the button cannot touch anything. Worked for me

Yeah, i think it is a common problem with the PS4. I tried the screw thing, and i think that is what worked for me.

Commiserations Doomy :/.  I had a similar issue, and did the screw thing here, and it's been well behaved ever since.  It's pretty straightforward to do if you've got a set of mini screwdrivers.  Thread on Sony support forum I followed was:

Good luck sorting :).

Yep, was the issue with mine

Took it back to the EB I got it from and they replaced it no questions asked

Mine was vertical also, sadly there's no fix so far from what I searched

Have tried tightening the screw, appears that Thor may have put the screw in so no probe there. I got mine from JB has anyone had any luck swapping anything there. I had a prob with a PC I bought there and they didn't want to have anything to do with me. The weird thing is that the issue isn't always there it comes and goes which is more annoying.

Sorry to hear the screw didn't fix it, no idea about JB, good luck - consumer rights are on your side at least.

Great news Doomy :D.  The PSN'll be a bit quieter for a week, but it'll be all the better for you having a new piece of kit in a weeks' time B).

That's nae good, what's wrong with it?  Controllers should have an implicit warranty as well, and it'd still be well within the 12 months.

Was it one of the sticks with a dodgy coating on it that went to hell?  If so, pretty sure that should be covered by warranty.  Unless you've been wearing barbed wire/sandpaper gloves while playing with it, it shouldn't wear out like that.

I know someone who has been through 3 PS4 controllers. They just go to JB ect buy another, take the one not working back a few weeks later and ask for thier money back, keeping the new one that works.
Not sure on the ethics of that solution but it has worked twice now.
