So jealous that you got to play together. Me and a friend have tried pvp and co-op and have absolutely no luck. Can't even get him to join a locked, custom game! :(

To be fair though, the games themselves have become a whole lot more complex and the variety of systems that you need to support have also become more varied and complex.  When I was coding in the '80s I could maintain the entire memory map of the system in my head and I only had to support Monochrome and CGA.

Also, the skills required have gone from those of one or two developers working on a title to a large team, even in the hundreds, and it is more like a movie production than a software development exercise.

Agreed, and quality issues tend to be more frequent at the changeover to a new generation when the scale of the production tends to jump forward a bit, and QA/management scramble to adjust.  One of my favourite studios, Paradox, has substantially improved its QA as its games have become more complex, after a decade or so of releasing very buggy games, just because everything came together that allowed them to release games after enough QA.

That said, I do think the internet has removed some of the pressure for QA on management - I remember buggy game launches from 15 years ago with software that was far simpler than that today, just because even though it was only a team you could count on one hand, they clearly didn't build effective QA into their development processes, and they were happy patching post-release, while there are games that released in the last year with teams of over a hundred that were fine at launch.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee."   Jules Winnfield

FAR CRY 4 – VALLEY OF THE YETIS RELEASE DATE

You’re stranded on a treacherous mountain ridge. You have no shelter and no immediate way off the mountain. You locate a camp, but you’ll have to fight to keep it. A strange (and deadly) cult is intent on taking it back and you’ll need to guard it from waves of enemies. All you want to do is survive, but you start to realize something else might is lurking in the shadows of the Himalayan Mountains, something inhuman. Can you survive in the Valley of the Yetis? The new Far Cry 4 DLC will be released into the wild on March 10, so you better get ready.

It’s the survival of the fittest in Valley of the Yetis. Take it on solo or bring a friend to help you weather the dangers on the snowy peaks. Discover the mystery behind the yetis as you fight to make your way off the mountain.
Valley of the Yetis will be available as part of the Season Pass, or it can be purchased separately. The Season Pass also includes The Syringe, Escape from Durgesh Prison, the Hurk Deluxe Pack and Overrun.
