That's a pretty slick trailer .  With everything else happening, I'd forgotten about Far Cry 4!  For all of the delays and what-have-you, there's still a bunch of great games out this release season .

FAR CRY 4 – SEASON PASS DETAILS

Is that… a yeti? Yes. Yes it is. The Far Cry 4 Season Pass has been announced and it is intense. From a co-op prison break and brand-new PvP multiplayer mode to a mythical creature hunt, the Season Pass promises hours of additional content for $29.99. On top of all the other goodies, Season Pass holders will have exclusive access to a day-one mission. Take a look below for the full rundown of all the DLC included in the Season Pass.

FAR CRY 4 SEASON PASS CONTENT

The Syringe – The day-one Season Pass exclusive mission will have you preventing Pagan Min from retrieving a rare recipe and using it against the rebellion. Take on The Syringe in either single-player or co-op.

Escape from Durgesh Prison – Team up with a friend to escape Yuma’s prison after being locked up and tortured. Fun stuff.

Hurk Deluxe Pack – More harpooning. More explosions. More Hurk. More awesome. Get access to five missions starring Hurk, including Yak Farm, Blood Ruby and Hurk’s Redemption. We just love this crazy country boy so much.

Overrun – Play as either the Rakshasa or the Golden Path in this new PvP multiplayer mode. Capture territory around Kyrat and stop that territory from being taken by your enemies.

Valley of the Yetis – A crash landing on a Himalayan ridge finds Ajay fighting for his life in a strange new frozen landscape. Scavenge for tools and upgrade your campsite, while fending off deadly nighttime attacks from a mysterious cult. Explore caves in the area, but watch out for what lurks within. Valley of the Yetis has both single-player and co-op options, so it might be wise to bring a friend along to watch your back.

You can also pre-order the Far Cry 4 Gold Edition on PlayStation or PC for $89.99 and receive the Season Pass automatically. Xbox One pre-orders will open up soon.

You definitely need the season pass for one of the MP modes - if it's the season pass _just_ for MP, then it's a new step in tiered pricing.  From a consumer perspective, it's probably not a bad idea, as many people (particularly for games like Far Cry) don't go near the MP, so only make the people who want to play it pay for it.  On the other hand, Far Cry 4 is 'full price' already......  We may well find that it's just one of many MP modes, the rest included in the base game - someone at Ubi would surely have predicted that all of MP behind the season pass wouldn't have gone down well.

So hard to tell but it seems the season pass will be needed for the PvP MP, so hopefully not the co-op, and might be needed for the Yeti horde mode . . .

So PvP is DLC, so you pay for Plus and now also pay for the PvP.   They better put a beta out for the PvP so at least one knows what ones is paying for.

Sounds to me like it just adds another MP 'mode' in there called 'Overrun'.... and it looks to be like one of the later ones. It'd be a bit silly if they got you to pay for MP. Wouldn't bother me too much, I'd really only be playing the SP anyway.

From what I read the season pass gives you:

• 2 Single/co-op missions(The Syringe and Valley of the Yetis)
  
• 1 New area (Valley of the Yetis)
  
• 1 Co-op Missions only (Escape from Durgesh Prison)
  
• 5 Single player Missions only (Hurk Deluxe Pack)
  
• 1 new PVP (Overrun) mode

Hurk missions could be co-op aswell though doesn't mention it like it does with the other ones.

Far Cry 4's multiplayer mode is not locked behind a paywall, creative director Alex Hutchinson has confirmed, following some level of confusion earlier this week.
"Just so it's clear: Multiplayer is for everyone who buys FC4, no need to buy anything else," Hutchinson said on Twitter. "There is an extra mode in DLC."
The extra mode Hutchinson is talking about is "Overrun," which is included with the $30 Far Cry 4 DLC pass. When Ubisoft announced the pass this week, it was unclear if the game was going to ship with a multiplayer mode available for people who did not own the pass.
