Finally got a silent PC... the CPU cooler wasn't registering (showing up) in Corsair Link so it was sitting at normal speed all the time. Found out you have to go to Regedit and change some numbers to zeroes... it's got something to do with USB, shit is beyond me. Thankfully there is YouTube and nerds in this world. lol

So now I actually have control over those two fans and the pump etc. End of story. I guess that having to solve these problems on my own is a good thing.

Back when I had more zip, I always enjoyed learning these kind of details to really have a feel for how it held together, it's definitely a good thing in terms of knowing your machine (a bit like knowing how a car works if you're a driver) - get into it Clowny, you'll be talking about overclocking next B).

Overclocking is easy as these days... matter of pressing one button and it does it all for you. Not even gonna bother with it though.

@ Graph - migrating all my fonts to the NAS, been going since last night, nearly there now. 41,326 files (5.28Gb). Takes ages because each file type is so small. After that's finished, need to migrate my WIP which I'm hoping should be quicker (larger file types). Only about 250Gb for that, the rest is backed up on another device. Once all that's done, I'm set.

Note - I don't have a window on the case, not interested in flashing lights and showing it off. So I just took the side off. That's before I moved the laser to another spot though.

Case looks good, but I'm like you, I'm more interested in what it does than what it looks like, but OMG that screen B) B) B).

I'd move the two HDDs down to the bottom HDD cage and remove the 5 HDD cage giving the GPU more unrestricted airflow from the front 120mm fan.

It does look nice, neat and clean, water coolers always look good compared to a big chunk of metal.

Good suggestion - was actually thinking of doing that. Most of the cage is unnecessary until I get more HDDs which I'm planning on doing eventually.

Had a look at doing ^that^ but decided I'd either need to move the fan (that's cooling the drives) down which wouldn't make any difference, or buy another fan so there are two in the front - then I think that config would work or make more sense.

fans are cheap, the better quality fans are quieter too if you decide to buy one.

Yeah I realise that but I don't think I'll be going out of my way to get it... next time I'm close to a computer store or I need to buy something else and get it delivered I'll get it. I doubt the computer will blow up in the meantime.

When I change the DPI on my mouse a dude say it with this guys voice...

Eight Hundred DPI
Three Thousand Two Hundred DPI...
etc..

It's fucking hilarious! I can't stop changing my DPI. His voice gets even more intense the higher the DPI you go.

rofl that's corny.  i've got a razer proclick, has on the fly sensitivity adjustments which really are the bomb when it comes to finer work in photoshop.

Yeah - it is hell cheesy. Reminds me of the trailer voice from the 80s-90s. But definitely good for changing it around on the fly as you said. There's an off switch in the mouse settings for when it starts to annoy me. haha.
