First up in Australia, while it was already thrillingly revealed at PAX Australia that Microsoft will be showcasing over a hundred playable Xbox One consoles at the Sydney EB Expo 2013 for all to try out, EB Games have also just confirmed that the Sony PlayStation 4 will be also be playable before its official release at the EB Expo as well. This is definitely one of the most exciting pieces of news yet for all the gamers living Down Under!

“This is a big deal… people are going to be able to look back in years to come and brag that they played it first. We know that this is something that the community have been waiting for and as gamers ourselves we are equally excited. The prospect of hands on game play before the official release is something gamers only dream of. We are stoked that Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has made this a reality for those attending EB Expo.” - Debra McGrath, EB Games National Brand, Events and Engagement Manager.
Not to be brushed aside though, Gameplanet have also revealed that there will be an exclusive expo in New Zealand for all our Kiwi friends to get some exciting hands-on action with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One too! Details are scarce for now, but what we do know so far is that the brand new Expo will be hitting Auckland's Vector Arena in late September and showcase many of the other big, third-party publishers such as Ubisoft and Electronic Arts as well.

This will be an interaction-centric event which gives the public unique first-access opportunities to get hands-on with cutting-edge consumer technologies - including early and extremely enviable playable access to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
DIGITAL NATIONZ is being held on 28th-29th September 2013 (first weekend of school holidays) at Vector Arena, Auckland. Tickets will be on sale from tomorrow with early bird discount offers for purchasing in August, so make sure to get in quick for this awesome landmark event in New Zealand!

So who's excited? I, for one, will be extremely thrilled for everyone who gets to try out these amazing new consoles so early and it is definitely great to see these fun and expansive opportunities pop up in our local Australian and New Zealand gaming events. Three cheers for next-gen!
