Cologne is ready for the next generation of interactive entertainment...

Gamescom 2013 will once again be held at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, on August 21st to 25th, 2013. This will mark the fifth edition of the annual consumer and trade show for games.

Sony's Gamescom showing next month will focus on the PlayStation 4 and its software.

"With the buzz around PlayStation 4 building, 2013 continues to be one of the most exciting years ever for video games fans," Sony said. "A host of next generation titles were unveiled at the PlayStation Meeting 2013 and E3 2013. At Gamescom in August 2013, the focus will be on PS4 and its games line-up once again."

Naughty Dog!!! Hopefully more details on the all of the games we saw at E3 too from all of the publishers. Ubisoft for me especially, haha, and a bit on Vita news .

be great if the vita started being used for something (other than 'for sale, hardly used vita' lol).

i'd love to hear more about the next fallout, but can't picture it.

Still loving the Vita myself, just got LBP Vita and it's awesome .  Not that it couldn't use more games, but it's got a pretty solid line-up now, if someone isn't having fun with their Vita, and isn't an FPS-only gamer, then they'll struggle to have fun with pretty much any gaming device.

As for Gamescom, will be interesting - I reckon you might get your wish Live, Naughty Dog have had a team on the go for over 18 months and we don't know what they're up to, I'd say they've gotta be close to being ready to announce .  Personally, I just want H-Hour to be given a bajillion dollars worth of funding .

Sony said they will reveal release plans for the PS4, so we will most likely get that release date finally! or it could just be bundles and other release info..

It's not long at all - I tip at least one game announcement - my money is on whatever Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3 team is up to - they've had almost two years now, it's gotta be 'showable', and it's probably been the PS3's second-biggest exclusive franchise (behind GT).  Of course, while it's most likely going to be another Uncharted (which would be no bad thing - I wouldn't mind if they tried something new, but I'm a big fan of the UC games, and they did just release TLoU) I'm really hoping they've actually spent the last two years making a new SOCOM .

Vita FTW. It's already got a great lineup of games...my 32gb disc is full to the brim. More games wont hurt, but imo its a much better portable experience than mobile or iPad, clearly superior to ds and psp (i haven't tried the 3ds) and I don't understand why it hasn't sold more.
