Apparently there are still those who think that the Konami v Kojima stuff is actually a huge ruse. Given that there is so little evidence for a lot of the claims about Kojima's issues with Konami, the fact that Kojima has gone into hiding (Big Boss?), the fact that MGSV's story is incomplete and parallels between what is happening irl and the themes in MGS2 (memes, false information) and 5 (cult of personality) people think it points to Kojima doing some elaborate hoax. Also, Kojima said before MGSV came out that he was working on doing something big and if it failed he might have to leave the industry. Hmmm,,.. It would also mean that the public shaming Keighley did at the Game Awards would also be part of the ruse. (Keighley and Kojima are friends and Keighley has been in on Kojima trolls in the past. Imagine if Kojima has gone into hiding like Big Boss and just like how Big Boss went away to build the real Outer Heaven and left a phantom in his place, Kojima has gone away, leaving a phantom game behind, to create the 'real' MGS5 (Chapter 3), that picks up Big Boss' story. Oh God could you imagine? Troll to end all trolls. Life and art in perfect sync. I doubt it but it would be amazing.

I think that's the fandom really not giving enough credit to reality lol... Kojima used to be vice president of Konami, so it really isn't a stretch of the imagination to see that a severe change in the direction of the company would turn the relationship south. I don't doubt that you can read a lot into MGSV as it stands from it all though. Read some interesting thoughts around Emmerich for instance.

Haha, cheers for the conspiracy theory Aro .  That's definitely one for the ages.  I've seen too much corporate BS to think it's more than corporate BS, but I can't put in words how happy I'd be if that theory was true .

It's official now, Kojima has left and they've gone independent with a reformed Kojima Productions. Cool logo too byYoji Shinkawa . A Sony exclusive is being worked on too.
