I can understand Alonso leaving he went to Ferrari to win championships and Ferrari over the past few seasons seem to be slipping further behind and he is getting closer to the end of his carter so he can't just wait for them to reclaim their form. I guess he sees Mclaren reclaiming theirs when they switch to Honda engine next year rather than Ferrari reclaiming there's.
Vettel to Ferrari is a bit odd it is a great name that most want to race for but I'd back RedBull to out perform Ferrari next year.
Next season could definitely be interesting if RedBull, Ferrari and Mclaren close on Mercedes since all four teams will have a bunch of quick drivers in them. Of course it could turn out a dud and just have one team dominate.
Yeah - Alonso deserves a better car... Ferrari as you'd know have been ordinary since Raikkonen won. Ferrari have been chasing Vettel for a couple of years (so it's been on the cards) and it'd be great if Alonso could win another championship in a Honda McLaren which bought Senna two world titles. That's his dream apparently (winning 3 like Senna). But like you said, if RB, Ferrari and McLaren close up to Mercedes, it'd be awesome... that's the main reason why I like these sorts of changes as it mixes up the field. Ferrari are on more of a long term strategy to get back on top as well... so it may not be a few years until we see that (if we see it at all). With all that said, Vettel and Raikkonen are friends as well... so they'd probably partner up better.
So who's partnering Alonso at McLaren? I haven't read into that yet.
