With the F1 starting up again figured I would create a thread. So if you want to chat about any car/truck, bike, boats or planes racing series you can do it here.

Go, go Alonso.

I am signed up here realityf1 if any one wants to go against the defending champion.

You said the magic letter/number combination to grab my attention. haha. I'm all eyes and ears! Can't wait till next week. Been too long of a break as usual. Hopefully not another Vettel championship but with such minor changes this year RB will be strong as ever and I'm pretty confident he'll be taking his fourth. My dream prediction - It'd be nice to see Raikkonen win some more races and take the honours. Lotus do look strong again, so here's hoping! Interested to see how Valtteri Bottas does (another Finn) in the Williams without Heikki on the grid.

Yep definitely looking forward to the F1, hoping Alonso can win obviuosly, interested to see Hamilton's performance aswell.

Use to watch alot of other series but ended being to much trouble keeping track of them all, along with several other sports, so like some of those other sports, I ended up watch less or only watching certain events..
  • F1- followed for quite a well but only really started watching the past 4 years, try to watch most of the races
  • V8 - for a while supporting G.Murphy but that has dissipated over the last couple of years, still watch Bathurst.
  • motoGP - supporting V.Rossi but very rarely watch it any more.
  • DAKAR - used to watch this but haven't the past 2 years.
  • WEC/DTM/NASCAR/FIAGT - if I see them on I will watch them but have no idea on who is who.
  • WRC - will be interesting how it urns out without Loeb but generally only read the website.
  • ROC - try to watch this every year.
  • Le mans - watch this every year.

I've been watching F1 since the late 70's / early 80's. Haven't watched the V8s for quite a while. Used to watch it religiously back when Moffat, Dicky and Brock drove. It's not that I dislike it, I just don't have time for it. The only racing I make time for is F1. WRC I tend to miss as well as it's not well televised here. MotoGP I'm not interested in that much but I do watch it from time-to-time. Not interested at all anymore now that Stoner is out.

F1 FTW!!!

Go Alonso

Loved last year when he said "I'll kill him after the race*" at Bahrain when Nosberg tried to run him off the road. Get to watch the race by myself Mum and Sister going down to Melbourne to watch for 3rd time.

Ogier won Mexico and is starting to build a lead. Would love him and Loeb to team up for France at ROC to take down the German team.

*he actually said "You must always leave space" but I heard it as above first and was like did he really just say that as it turned out he didn't and my sister looked at me like what the hell was I on about.

I like the year before that when he said, "we will get them, don't you worry" - in reference to RB obviously. He's undoubtedly the best driver on the grid, there's no question about that - Ferrari need to do a better job for him. I'm happy for anyone but Vettel to take the crown this year. Not that I dislike him - I've actually grown to like him, I guess because he has matured. But 4 years in a row gets a bit dull.

You can never have enough, "No1 baby, yesz, yesz, yesz".

Alonso would go favourite if Ferrari had an on par car with RB. I think Lotus once again will be the dark horse, their poor tyre management cost them last year several times.

Yeah - there's the usual RB looking strong, was never surprised by that. I never get too excited over practice anyway, the real shit starts to happen in qualifying and the race is where it counts. Weird seeing Lewis in a Mercedes I must admit. We'll see tomorrow - but I reckon we might see a RB lock-out.

No joke - that's why it was awesome! Glad I didn't fly down for it - tomorrow is supposed to be better weather anyway.

If it's not better weather, it might be a disappointing day for the fans - those qualifying session in the rain looked pretty hairy :o

Yeah mate, those cars definitely aren't built for wet weather... some of the NGG crew went to watch it as they're Melbournites - I would've been a bit annoyed, especially if I flew down there but it's not the first time I've seen it happen (postponed). I'm a little disappointed simply because I've watched it for most of the day, could have gone out and done something. On the bright side though - it'll be an action packed day tomorrow.
