Ubisoft just tweeted.

Nice - looks like they'll be sticking to a similar-ish timeframe as AC3 then, and by the look of that pic, using their naval combat a bit more (which, by all accounts, is a good thing) .  Damn these yearly releases though, hard to keep up with!

Too many Assassin Creeds - being released every year. I've still gotta play the last 3.

Yeah bit too soon for another AC. They are burning it out. One of the main things I like about AC is the stories. But all these sequels means they end up padding everything and drawing it out.

Due out on October 29. apparently, and in the non-surprise of the year, will also turn up on next-gen consoles.  Reckon I'll grab this for the PS4 (in a couple of years time, once I catch up, lol) - I reckon their 'AnvilNext' engine was built with next-gen in mind, and might struggle a bit on PS3/360.

Yeah  good to see its gonna be next gen - i'll keep an eye on it. But i've given up on the series - I've forgotten the story for the ones i've played and still got like 3 more to play - its all too much! Why can't it be every 2 years!

PETA are complaining that you can harpoon whales in the game. /facepalm

Cause clearly if people do it in a game the very next thing they'll want to do is buy a whaling ship and roam the Pacific looking for Mody Dick.

Didn't hear them complain about AC3 and hunting animals or Far Cry 3 for that matter.

I always wonder what it is about whales - am an ethical vego m'self, so personally don't eat any meat, but don't see any reason why we should be treating whales any different than other animals.  I actually like the idea of hunting though, so quite glad they have this stuff in games - sure, it's nothing like the real thing, but it's the closest I can get without actually hurting animals, which I wouldn't want to do, lol.  Totally crazy complaint by PETA though - even in the (very) off chance AC4 makes whaling 'cool', it's hardly likely to increase or decrease the incidence of it!

Ubisoft have confirmed that they don't support whaling.  Nor, indeed, do they support actual piracy!  Apologies to all of those that had run off to start a life of crime on the waves because you thought Ubi said it was OK, time to come home, lol.

That looks like it's stretching it, even for some of the out-there lore in the AC universe.  Seems a bit of an 'instant win' as well - stealth's pretty easy with an old invisibility cloak and some invisible attack wolves!  Here's hoping it's a one-off....
