Microsoft is giving away free Microsoft Points to Xbox Live Rewards Program members just for playing Halo 4.

Quote

If you play over 140 hours of multiplayer, you'll be given 600 MS Points. Over 70 hours will earn you 300 MS Points, and over 35 hours will get you 100 MS Points.

Spending over 3000 MS Points on Halo content in the Marketplace will get you 200 points back, and spending 1500 points will get you 100 points back. You'll also be given back 800 MS Points if you spend over 3000 points and play over 35 hours of multiplayer combined.

This offer is good until November 30, and you have to sign up for the Reward service to make it count.

Not a bad deal at all - would suit quite a lot of us if it caught on with different titles :).  Doubt Activision could afford to do something like this for CoD though .

Its not that Activision CANT afford it, Its that they WONT do it.

I didnt think they would need to have an incentive to play lots of halo. I thought it would be a given the most people would play it that much. Oh well still a nice deal

Aye, agreed, although Activision actually doesn't make a heap of money as a company - nowhere near as much as it should, given the properties it has ;).

Agreed with the second bit too - it's _the_ 360 game of the second half of the year, and from what I've heard still plenty popular, so doesn't need to worry about CoD elbowing it around too much.

This is just Microsoft scrambling to get people off COD to play Halo. Halo was the most played Xbox game (by a long shot) until COD4 came out so good on MS for doing this - hopefully they can turn it back around.
