On a scale of season 1 to season 5, i'd rate that episode 8 a season 2, boring with a dull siege lol.


Atleast the next 2 episodes are ment to be longer, think the last ep is ment to be nearing 2 hours or so from what ive read (Could be bs)
But i think they're gonna have to with so much to do in 2 eps.

Sooky lah lah who lied to john about little finger. All she had to do was tell him and things would've been much different.

But yeah, great episode, great battle scene, great everything about it, but honestly it was all predictable down to wun wun dying, kinda ruined it for me. Least he got a badass death with breaking the door down, it's all GoT actors hope for really lol.

Daenarys and Yara seemed to like each other, knowing how things are, wont be surprised if thats pushed heavily on (Though i doubt people wouldnt mind lol).

Also whats the sudden "no important characters dying these days" thats going on? Doesnt seem very game of thrones, maybe the books will kill them off more lol.

And then there's sansa at the end. How did she know ramsey hadnt fed the dogs in 7 days? She already left when he said it, i doubt anyone else would've repeated it? I think they kinda screwed up so sansa could look badass lol.

From the previews of next episode, this probably shouldve been Episode 10 as the next looks boring.

It's something small i know, it's just irritating me that they set her up to say something like that took look like a bad ass when she wasn't fucking there to hear it lol. Doubt they'd repeat it amoung themselves.

Well i thought this episode would be boring, but i was rather wrong.

Cersei back to being the bitch we all know and somewhat hate, thought she lost her mojo but now she seems to have regained it and is now queen (Well for the time being). Wonder if she knew her son would kill himself over it or not (As she did know all 3 of her kids would die young).

Lady Mormont will die next season, she's become everyone newest favorite and we all know how that ends up lol. Her calling out all the other lords was priceless haha.
The white wolf, King of the north, didn't see that coming. The look on Little fingers face was priceless, he didn't see that coming either haha. Sansa will probably do something stupid but i doubt the lords of the vale will follow little finger now.

Everyone probably lost their shit over confirming Jon's parents. Jon Fighting in the north, Daenarys the south. Will end with the 2 of them being married (Song of fire and ice eh?)


Also Bran's uncle all but confirmed the Night king has the horn of winter as he said the dead cannot pass the wall, which means it's gonna come down..
7 episodes for the last season, gonna be 7 really big episodes lol.

So watched the whole season again (Abusing the free foxtel the last weekend Ive got it haha), and must say that its well put together, probably one of the best seasons they've done (Probably due to the growing budget they've got lol).

Wrapped up a lot of story lines to make way for the massive CGI and extras expense that will come with season 7. The only downside with the season was a fair bit of it was predictable when it came to those major moments.

Hopefully S7 isnt so straight forward with what happens, hopefully they reclaim that insecurity of the main characters always being on the chopping block like ole dead ned without a head haha.

200 odd ships with 100k Dothraki plus extras (Whats left of the Unsullied + Forces of Tyrell/Dorne/Greyjoy) aswell as 3 dragons, a dwarf and Varys. That's a bit of an overkill and the works of a complete domination so hopefully there's alot of struggles and uncertainties. I would put money on 1 maybe 2 of the dragons being killed, maybe even all 3 could die. Add maybe Theon and greyworm to that casualty list (Some majors have to die at least)

No idea what's going to happen in the North. Obvious thought would be Dany coming to the rescue with the dragons but i hope that's not the case. They need to keep the north and south wars completely separate till the end.
Like i said above, bets on the Night king having the horn of winter so the wall comes down (Perhaps north of the wall becomes Jon's domain?) since the dead cant pass the wall (Though since branding Bran, anything's possible i guess).

Doubt Dany and Jon will get together (It's the targaryen way), but granted they're both alive still, she'll let him rule the north like she said to the Greyjoys, hell, maybe Jon will rule Westeros while she conquers the world.
Partially hoping Nymeria (Arya's dire wolf) shows up and gets with ghost so the north will still have dire wolves.

Now just to wait 6 months lol.

For a non-spoiler-necessary thought on the series, I think it's amazing they've been able to keep the cast together for as long as they have.  I'm not sure whether they've had any lead roles change actor/actress for six season now, and kept consistency for the vast, vast majority of the (many!) supporting roles to boot.

Up to episode 10 today.  Enjoyed season 6 so far, but they need to start bringing threads together to sharpen it up for next year I'd think (assuming nothing crazy happens in ep 10 - far from a safe assumption - Rob and Sansa being brought together, and the  Greyjoys and the Mother of Dragons (got a blank as to her name, it'll come back to me later )).

Battle of the Bastards was dull, predictable and silly imo.  Started off alright (Ramsey's behaviour re; Riccon was very in character, and suitably dark for the show and the Boltons) but then it descended into usual silliness.  Jon decides that silly plot is better than consistency of character (in almost every other battle he put the needs of the battle and his men over those of his own, and yeah he was born again and a bit funny, but a bit funny in a 'less interested in himself' way), then the horses charging uphill get there far too quick (and have far too much force vs horses charging downhill - generally speaking, charging up a slope like that on foot or horseback is a really, really silly idea).

Slugging it out in the middle was reasonable enough, but then there was the bit they were all surrounded.  Incredibly polite of all of Snow's men, giant included, to not just wait until the shieldwall slowly formed up around them, but actually all clump together to make it easier for it to happen.  Just ridiculous - almost LOTR Pelennor fields "let's charge our horses at that stone wall and see what happens" ridiculous (also, note how the shield wall was able to shrink in without ever needing to drop columns - that's some freaky bending space stuff going on there ).  Arts/journalism graduates doing battle scenes makes me sad (although not surprised, GoT has a long tradition of warfare silliness).  Luckily the drama in general and characters are top-notch .

Crikey Axe - I never thought a fantasy series should contain a realistic telling of a battle that took place, particularly on a tv series where they'd usually avoid it due to budget and time constraints. Are they supposed to show 10 minutes of horses charging before they get there because they're charging up hill? Do you really think that battle would have lasted an hour in RL?

I mean - for fuck sake Axe, are you serious?

I'm not looking for gritty realism, but a little less blatant silliness wouldn't be bad.

The bit that really got me was the "just stand in the centre there while we all form up around you, would you please?"  The rest wasn't terrible, and I'd have given it a pass if it'd skipped that bit.  The god knows how long we saw Jon getting trampled was a bit of a drag as well - thought it was a tad directionless and the cinematography as jammed up as the people being filmed .  Plenty of TV and movie works have done a better job of battles than GoT (LotR does in most instances, Pelennor aside, Excalibur does a great job as well).  Doesn't mean they're not fun to watch, but it does make me work extra hard to suspend disbelief when that kind of silliness is going on*.  Glad you and Saintsy enjoyed it, don't get me wrong .

Enjoyed the last episode, thought Cersei was very much back in form.  Interesting how she put on what she wore to go to the throne room before Tommin jumped - suspect she had a fair idea how it would go down.  Will be interesting to see how Jaime responds.  Thought the season overall was enjoyable, but somewhat slow paced and as Saintsy says, a tad predictable - the only real surprise for me was the big boom in season 10, which I didn't see coming (that'll cut the casting budget for Season 7, lol).  Also though the season didn't cover as much ground as past seasons (although did do a good job of setting things up for the next season), although it still moved at a fair clip, and did start bringing plotlines together.

And I last showered on Monday, but it's winter, so I'm not too bad, but you wouldn't want to give me a hug .

* Honourable silliness mention to that new bloke ruling the Iron Islands, who thinks he can build 1000 ships from the timber on those barren lumps of rock.  Will be interesting to see where those boats show up in the scheme of things.
