PAX Australia is an event and Expo focused on gaming and the gaming culture. There are concerts, console freeplay areas, tabletop areas and of course, panels and exhibits from some of your favourite publishers, developers to listen and talk to as well as plenty of to games demo and try out. This idea of having an show exclusively for gaming was conceived and built by the people at Penny Arcade in 2004, and from its humble beginnings as a small event held in Washington, USA, PAX has since expanded into a huge show in the States every year and even to Australia since 2013.

This year (and for at least the next few years) PAX Australia will run from from October 30th - November 1st and will be held in the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is (obviously) located in Melbourne, Victoria.
There aren't many details on which companies/developers will be holding exhibits and panels just yet, but from the past 2 years I've attended there have usually been, at the very least, a few big publishers like Nintendo and Ubisoft showing off their latests and upcoming titles, an enormous area for RiOT Games, an Australian Indie Showcase Pavillion, Oculus Rift showcases and demos as well as lots of stalls promoting and selling merchandise and various peripherals.
For more details and to register, check out the PAX Australia website here

I've just ordered a 3-day pass but will most likely sign up as an Enforcer again later this year when the registrations are up. There are also single day passes and Media and Exhibitor badges (if you are applicable for one), but I personally enjoyed helping out with event a lot more
