Great Raid session guys. Stayed up to the point where I was as robotic as my exo - just shooting at stuff and too tired to ask what was happening towards the end haha.

Really enjoying how much more strategy, puzzles and teamwork the Raid involves and it does make a lot of sense for it to be a friends-only mission after all we had to communicate and figure out together. I'm glad it's not spongey bosses and enemies that make it difficult like the higher level strikes (not that we've really encountered any so far deep into it), and it was a tonne of fun figuring things out, holding a point and backing each other up. Hopefully we can finish it some time tonight before the weekly reset :).

So did you guys manage to finish a raid?
I'm half way through lvl 25 as a hunter, so almost at the 26 requirement mark lol

not sure if i want to spend hours trying something that i may never finish lol

We haven't finished it yet, but I believe we are in the final area. Everyone was getting very tired at 2am EST when we called it a night (morning), so we'll try going back in this evening to finish it off.

It's epic and awe-inspiring, a massive challenge, but still a lot of fun. Give it a go if you get a chance, even if you don't finish it. You may well walk away with a new exotic item - a few of us did :)

Yeah, it's definitely worth a try some time like econo said. We had a couple of people at level 25 in our team but it balanced out with the others at level 26 or 27. Once you all figure out what to do and have a good rhythm going for each section, it can be really fun and challenging (without seeming impossible). You can also find and receive those precious ascendant weapon and armour upgrade materials from loot chests and getting past certain points, which are always a welcome sight :).

I'll try to find myself a good void secondary weapon to take out the shields if I can before we continue tonight. Wish I hadn't sacrificed all of my good fusion rifles on that exotic bounty so quickly :(. Might see if I can get enough XP and glimmer to upgrade the damage stats on my auto rifle too now that I have more than enough ascendant energies.

Edit: Also, the Raid saves and checkpoints your progress for the Destiny week (so up until each Tuesday) as long as you are playing in the exact same team to continue. So you can always spread the sessions and go back to it throughout the week. Our team just happened to have started very close to Tuesday tomorrow ;), but we're happy with how far we've made it so far.

Indeed - the raid is intense and our team did pretty good to get about 3/4 through it without anyone trying it before

That was great fun last night guys, hopefully will be on at about 7:30 - 8:00 tonight and we can finish it off! Remember to buy ammo refills, as well as void special weapons. I am thinking of ditching my hunter soon and leveling up a titan. Much more useful for the team, and i already have two legendaries for one.

Great idea Hasan. Don't ditch the hunter though, I'm sure he'll come in handy for other raids and content down the line. I'll also start working on a defender titan - they'll always come in handy during the toughest missions.

If you guys want to easily level alts, try this (I know it's a cheap tactic, but it's quick and easy):
You know how everyone is farming the loot cave on earth - just go and sit next to them for an hour or two whilst reading / watching tele / working etc. You'll need to move your camera around every now and then so you don't get kicked back to orbit, and make sure you're sitting close enough to the farmers to earn experience for their kills. I got my alt titan from level 12 to 20 in one afternoon doing this whilst working and checking on progress via remote play on the vita. You'll also grab a stack of engrams to level up your cryptarch too :)

I will keep using him for now, and max out the second subclass. I want to level up a titan for when the next content drops though!

Did anyone get anything exciting in the raid last night?

I just had a play around with the exotic sniper riffle I scored during the raid last night and it's pretty cool. It's called the Ice Breaker. The best thing about it is you never have to reload it because it regenerates ammo every few seconds. I'm not much of a sniper user, but I think I'll use this gun a fair bit.

I also picked up some ascendant energy and ascendant shards, which I'm in desperate need for too :)

Sounds like an awesome sniper :D. They're good for covering other groups from a distance and taking out those pesky hobgoblins sniping down at us, hehe.

I received plenty of ascendant energy and a few shards and I'm pretty happy with that. Hoping to get the exotic Chest armour from Xur that Bat0 mentioned to upgrade with more shards (if I get some) :).

I got the legendary sniper rifle with void damage...twice, Plus 6 ascendant shards. I'm probably going to ditch hunter as well and go for warlock.

So if I read this right you have to many hunters in the raid party so to fix that you are all going to make Titans makes total sense

    Beating the last Boss

    Spoiler

Well shoot, that's an awesome use for Titan in that one (where I was actually feeling a bit useless for the team :(). Forgot about the attack buff that I can use instead so I'll go with that + extra next time we try it again.

I think with this method I could stay with the outside group to put up the attack bubble shield up earlier in the middle? I'll level up my Thorn too to kill the enemies more easily. We will need the inside group to try to call out when they're ready to get the last oracle.
