Yeah I went to that mashy/bog area yesterday too GC.

By bad move was taking some new companions I wanted to experiment with, forgot to outfit them with gear.  But my level 8 party managed to struggle through, quite a few go-invis and revive the dead team moments with those rifts.

I managed to get the boss on attempt number 2, again with going invis and reviving my tanks, but it took many minutes to finish him off, seriously tough boss for below level 8 characters.

The game starts getting you to make some tough calls and really ramps the story up once you do the Champions of the Just (Power 15) mission.   The mission said levels 4~7 and I was level 7 and just got 15 Power saved up after doing some Storm Coast bits n pieces (before my bog trek), still not sure I made the right calls in that story . . . . have to wait n see.

I still have lots to finish in the hinterlands but wanted to do the story missions that were set for my characters level before I advanced too far.  Storm Coast is cool, lots of rain, wind and ocean . . keep expected to see a Battlefield 4 carrier in the water

I've hit 50 hrs and it feels like I'm getting near the end of the story. Main story wasn't as long as I would have though.

I am only about 16 hours in and it wants me to go

Yeah - I'm level 7 now I think so probably why I got smoked the first time. As said though, I'm yet to give it a few more shots... I've been in similar situations and still gotten through eventually. Have any of you beaten the Dragon in the Hinterlands? I ran through there and killed some babies (was only level 5 or 6 then) as they were simple but the big bastard, as soon as he'd fire ball me I was dead or had practically no health so just avoided it until I'm a bit tougher.

Only dragon I saw

Only dragon I saw was fighting a big ass giant on the shores in Storm Coast.   I watched and though, maybe I should sit back . . .naah ran in shooting arrows, Dragon leaves, Giant turns to my party, picks up a rock and 1 shot kills each member of my party one by one while I was shooting its leg, and going invis.  Managed to survive and got some good loot but the giant was a handful, and impossible without invis at my level (6 at the time.)

Might do some more Hinterlands before moving on with the Story

This seems like a good tactic for the Dragon (haven't read it all though) - but looks like he has level 13 and 14 characters, I'm only half that.

On dragons

There appears to be at lest one dragon per area. The Storm Coast was the WTF moment I mentioned earlier. The lowest lvl one I saw was 14 and with lvl 16 characters it look me about 20min to beat.

Right - well I'm staying well clear of them then. At least until I'm double of what I am now.

Coast area is so easy compared to that swamp area... could win every fight blindfolded. Swamp area is supposedly for 11-13 (or something like that) so no wonder it was tough at lvl 7 or whatever I was/am.

Had quite a few crashes with this game, hence why I'm in here having a break from it.

Love the banter in this game - had me cracking up a few times.

Yeah the more I get into it the more I am enjoying the banter and the voice acting, some well chosen cast

Finished Inquisition. Story was serviceable. Everything else fantastic. Took about 65hrs.

Tempted to go back and do a second playthrough. New class, choices and all that. Feel like I don't want to be done with that world yet.
