The next three months of gaming are filled with some huge action and adventure titles scattered with a classic racer and some old-school, intense shooters in the mix. Q2 2014 undoubtedly brings a good balance between brand new IPs and exciting game sequels that are sure to keep you on your toes no matter what your favourite gaming platorms are.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends

Release date: 3rd, April 2014

What is it?: Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is a new expansion to Dynasty Warriors 8 and based on the ancient Three Kingdoms period of China. Building on the original game, Xtreme Legends includes a new storyline focusing on the legends of the mighty Lu Bu, a wealth of new characters and weaponry to play with throughout the game and much more to make for an even deeper, more enjoyable experience in the long-standing Dynasty Warriors universe.

What is it?: Another entry by Traveller's Tales to the already massive LEGO videogame series. The LEGO The Hobbit video game will have the player travel through locations and events covered by the first two Hobbit movies; An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug.

  • Single-player, Online/Offline Co-Op.
  • Each playable dwarf will have his own unique ability.

Similar to: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, LEGO The Lord of the Rings, other LEGO game series.

The Amazing Spiderman 2

What is it?: The Amazing Spiderman 2 is the new action-packed, open world adventure game with an alternate take on the events of the live-action movie. Building on the story of the previous game, players once again assume the role of Spiderman and his alter-ego, Peter Parker, as he continues his search to find the murderer responsible for his uncle's death and to fight against the new foes and menaces that threaten his beloved New York City.

What is it?: Child of Light is a platforming RPG set from a side-scrolling perspective with an Active-Time Battle System for battles against enemies. Players control Princess Aurora, the daughter of an Austrian duke, in Lemuria in her quest to recapture the three sources of light.

  • RPG elements (Stat Building).
  • Turn-Based battles.

    Nice one Spec B).  Some good looking games up there, Watch Dogs, Child of Light and (depending on how well it launches) Elder Scrolls Online are the three that catch my eye.

    Sega was in a fair bit more trouble than Nintendo though, and fully exited their hardware business before they went multiplat.  Ninty's still selling 3DS' like they're going out of fashion, so suspect they'll want to keep Mario and co exclusive to draw people into them.

    Elders Scrolls Online is the only one I'm waiting for, I played the PC Beta and it is the co-op Skyrim was lacking.

    Wolfenstine and Watch Dogs ill look into BUT i just finished Sniper Ghost 2 which was a fun game... But being a late comer i couldnt truly experience the mp cause population is non existant. Will defs try elite 3 for its MP. stealth snipings a refreshing change from the other twitch shooters flooding the market.

    Yeah - Child of Light, Murdered: Soul Suspect and Watch Doggies are on my list, hoping the last two turn out well in the review department. ESO was delayed another 6 months from memory but I've lost interest in that now and definitely wouldn't pay a sub for the amount of gaming I put in these days. Either way, it's going to be difficult to pull me away from the Trials Editor. Building > Playing.

    I'm was really looking forward to Soul Suspect but I'm not sure anymore. I hope you actually investigate instead of a more combat heavy experience, fighting demons etc.
