So the people that have been getting early copies and trying to spoil it for everyone else will get their progress completely wiped with the day1 patch. Also the server of uploaded discoveries will be completely reset too.

This pleases me.

Bit harsh mate, but fair enough. It's frustrating having to wait while some others have gotten lucky, but it's only what - an extra week or so? In the days of review embargoes and the like, I'm often on the lookout for an early sample of gameplay videos to help make a decision on it. When it comes to a pre order or definite purchase, I just avoid any potential for spoilers.

Literally a few days and people still can't take it.  Serves the guy right which spent like $1200 on a copy lol.

For me it's not so much waiting it's this pattern of releases getting sabotaged before they're out the door and this case the developers wanting the experience to be as intended.

http://www.no-mans-s...08/update-1-03/

"If you had an early copy somehow, your save game will technically work post update, but you will miss out on new content and experiences if you don’t delete your save before updating (should be obvious why from notes below)."

Sean Murray himself shedding light on it all, didn't read the actual notes because of spoilers but here if it's relevant to anyone.

Sounds like a very reasonable response.  Folks getting it early and trying to discover a heap of things and get their name across the map is pretty poor form.  Not surprised it's a good response, Hello Games seem to have their act together B).

There is something seriously wrong in that guys head. I had a look through some of the reddit threads with that tosser, and he's pretty much a walking contradiction that paid waaaaay too much for early access to avoid spoilers so he could spoil it for everyone else.

Hope you enjoy the game Smokey. I expect to have a couple on my friends list playing it this week!

Enjoying it so far. My main criticism at this point is that I can see the planet exploration may get a bit repetitive, particularly during long play sessions. Every planet I've visited so far has you doing basically the same things. Now it could and i hope it changes as you progress. At the moment the gameplay loop feels a little light or short or whatever world you wanna use.

This is basically what I was afraid of. Waiting for the PC version to release but might just hold off if it's just rinse and repeat type grinding gameplay.

Finding it incredible so far guys. I thought at one point yeah I got this, I'm getting the hang of it. Then I vertically started exploring the galactic view o_O.

Having said that I think it's not for everyone one, makes GTAV look linear.

Edit/ Good bit in and I'm not finding that Aro.

Sean Murray wrote a beautiful letter mentioning the Australian outback sky as inspiration growing up.

A lot of resource farming and traveling between landmarks to farm more things to build things so you can farm more things.

As you upgrade your equipment your things become less resource hungry. Depending on the planet it puts more pressure on your life support, etc too.

Sounds very much like Elite Dangerous. Grind! Still good though but have to put a lot of effort into doing shitty stuff to get to the good stuff (like buying awesome ships).

I don't know I haven't played elite but it feels like a natural progression. I don't feel like I'm  needlessly going out of my way for things I need. Your able to trade for most resources really easily.

Yeah, I might be spending too much time in each Sol. Might need to travel further in order to start seeing more things.

I'm enjoying it and I'm starting to enjoy it more now that I'm deeper in. Now that I am learning more about how the systems work and what items do, it's becoming more addicting.
