Well we had a good 3 hour run last night with 4 players in story mode, and was loads of fun. The game really comes into its own with 4 players, no friendly AI, and we smashed through 2 levels with only 1 team failure against a mega raid boss.
The fast paced action is actually well separated by storyline and platforming sequences, which first at first I didnt like, but once your into a long play session, it all makes sense. (Echo-mode is what you play if you just wanna shoot stuff.)
The 4 classes/characters each have well defined roles, and in a way, closer to MMO style roles, ie:
Dalton = TANK/CQC = Batty
Jacob = DPS = Me
Izzy = HEALER/RANGE = Harvs
Naya = STEALTH/RECON = Dunny
Naya creates diversions and flanks, while Dalton takes em front on shielded and hammering anything in CQC, Izzy healing from range and sniping, and Jacob burning Fuse and killing and staggering. If Jacob is kept alive and full of Fuse, things die really quick.
We had some create teamwork in terms of sharing ammo/fuse and the higher level guys going into Fusion modes to keep Dalton and Jacob in Tank/DPS modes for as long as possible.
So, in terms of the story mode, its pretty damn good if you have a good bunch of 4 people to play with, all using mics/headsets.
We only had one slight frame rate issue, and thats with thousands of things going on with vortexs, arc burns, shattering, mag blasts filling the screen with mayhem. So a vast improvement on ME3 and BL2 which both suffer bad FR issues under less stress.
No connections issues at all in game last night, and short load times
Will hopefully get more time in Ech-mode on the weekend and spew forth my thoughts on that.
