EA and Visceral games have announced that a co-op demo for Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation Store from next week on March 12. Like its predecessors in the Army of Two series, The Devil's Cartel will place a huge emphasis on tactical and co-operative shooting and you can expect even bigger explosions and more heart-pumping action from this new instalment.

The upcoming demo will allow players to "step into the boots of private military contractors Alpha and Bravo as they embark on a mission to rescue a kidnapped politician while diffusing an additional hostage situation".

"From the bottom floor of a dangerous drug lab, to the rooftops of a sky rise, Alpha and Bravo must infiltrate the Cartel’s stronghold and overcome hordes of cartel members, all the while working together to survive. With the lives of others on the line, the dynamic duo will need to split up as one player runs into battle face-to-face with their opposition, while the other takes to the sky in a helicopter to man a mini gun and provide cover".

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel will officially launch on March 26 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Aye, really enjoyed the first.  Been meaning to get the second, but like to mix up the gaming a bit, and there's no shortage of shooters atm, so it keeps getting short shrift.  This looks like a good entry to the series, reckon it's likely to have longer legs with this more serious angle.
