It's going to be an exciting week for Final Fantasy fans because Square Enix has partnered up with the EU PlayStation Blog to bring fantastic discounts on much loved Final Fantasy titles in the PlayStation Store. Since the first game published in the series in 1987 in Japan, Final Fantasy has become a worldwide sensation. With the franchise branching from turn-based into many of the different RPG genres such as tactical, action, massively multiplayer online and even having third-person shooter and racing game spin-offs, anticipation and excitement for future instalments of the Final Fantasy series is still growing strong.

This Sale will start from Thursday the 24th January with the PlayStation Store update (for one week) and includes most of the classics that we have played and loved throughout the years except for Final Fantasy III, the PS2 Final Fantasy titles, X, X-II, XI and XII, and this gen's XIII, XIII-2 and XIV.



And if you have never played a Final Fantasy title before, then what better time to get into it and see what has made this beautiful RPG series one of the most successful gaming series in history.

That's a whole lotta Final Fantasy, and a pretty good sale to boot .  I've played all the PSOne FFs, and I think they're probably my favourite in the series.  X and XII were also good, but I still preferred VII, VIII and IX.

And the Final Fantasy Sale is now up and running in the PS Store.

My personal favourites include the titles Axe has mentioned above , and Final Fantasy X from the PS2. The PSP/Vita titles in this Sale are wonderful games too, especially Final Fantasy Tactics: War of Lions, which I first played on the PSOne (and it is still considered one of the best strategy RPGs around), and the dynamic brawler, Dissidia Final Fantasy, where you get to play as Sephiroth!!!!... (among all the other main heroes and villains from the each of the Final Fantasy titles too, of course) .
