Hi All,

Given I played quite a bit of this on the weekend, I thought I would start a topic for some general discussion.

My initial sitting didn't fair well.  I wasn't a fan of the introductory level, nor was I that thrilled with the starting Haytham section, I thought I was back in AC 1.

Once through that initial hump of 'what the f###', the actual game begins, the Connor story.

IMHO, I think they have done a great job with the open world concept.   I made some cash, bought some treasure maps, and went looking for treasure, and forgot about the main story line once Boston was open.

Once I found the ship mission, unlocked that, I spent countless hours braving the wild seas almost to the point of sea sickness with the rogue waves in the massive storm.   Then I found out I could upgrade my ship, and needed more cash.

So I started on building up my homestead, with all the homestead missions and making $$ via land convoys.  Now my ship is iron clad and built for battle.

Can't quite recall what Sequence I am up to, but busy taking forts, looking for treasure, building my homestead and ruling the oceans.

Would be keen to hear peoples thoughts on the MP, haven't ventured there yet.

Yeah I have mixed feelings about Haythem's section. It's so long and linear. Once Connor's story began I finally felt I was in the game 'proper'. They could of made Haythem's part half the length it was. I wasn't liking the game until the point where Connor became an Assassin, then it was suddenly awesome!

There's definitely a lot to do in this world, some are great like the Navel Missions but most of it seemed unnecessary. Trade Convoys for example. I love hunting, stalking animals and setting traps, so much fun.

The combat system is a lot of fun. All the sick moves Connor has and stringing together kills looks amazing. Rope Dart is also so much fun.

Haven't tried MP and to be honest not going to, It was bad in Brotherhood and it was bad in Revelations. Such a pointless exercise

The biggest thing for me is the story, which I won't discuss here, as you obviously haven't finished it.

Yeah the combat system and animations are top notch.  Makes you want to try every weapon, as each is unique.  Luv the rapier :)

Got this free with my new PS3, only played to when you first reach Boston has Haythem. My only previous Assassin's Creed experience was with AC1 on PC and I have only played 90 minutes, I'll go back and finish one day.

I unlocked the sawtooth sword and it is mazingly good for open combat. Some rather gorey animations with the kills too, lol.
I´m sort of around sequence 7/8, but sidetracked by all the collections and other missions available.

Okay, Benedict Arnold missions (got them with the pre-order) were a bit naff.
Don't pay for them if you don't have it.

Finally got my homestead upgraded enuf to make all the spec items weapons, some really good ones in there.   Spent most of my weekend completing peg-legs, treasure, liberation and assassination missions, oh and destroying ships with my sea-barring fortress.

Will have to suss out the sawtooth, dont think I have come across it yet.

I finally finished sequence 9 yesterday after liberating all of NY, having soo many assassin buddies to come lend a knife is great, no fight to large now :)

I only use Stealth when a mission demands it.  Otherwise, its whirling death time, esp with a smoke bomb or 2    or rope dart/knife
Thats why I hated the starting Haytham mission of having to be stealthy, it should always be an option, ala metal gear.

The Sawtooth is gained through the mission 'Lost Mayan Ruins' (naval mission) and was a piece of DLC included with some pre-order editions.

New Assassin's Creed Game With New Setting and Hero Coming FY 2014

So that any time between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014

Assassin's Creed III has also sold over 12m, that is quite impressive, I am guessing it is partly because of the great hype that surround the game pre-release plus it was also the end of the story arc, so people looking for closure would have picked it up.

It'll be a pretty impressive task to put together a whole new game set around a different historical period (as the difference in culture/tech at the time will likely pose some gameplay challenges).  Plus there'd be the whole generational changeover as well (although I suspect 'AnvilNext' was built with that in mind).  Will be interesting for sure B).

They should set it in Japan, Tenchu style.

Considering how well the naval missions were done, I want to be a pirate on the high seas, a pillaging and plundering.

Leaked poster of 4, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flags.

Could be fake but it looks like its leaning towards being true. Supposedly aimed at 2013 holidays on PS4, XBOX infinity.
I guess they took the positive feed back on the naval battles, hopefully it will have a kraken in it to fight (not likely).
