Seems like a waste to not make this kind of thing and take advantage of next gen consoles.

Taken from this reddit thread: http://www.reddit.co...cement_trailer/

"Here's a list of the new info from CVG:
  • Characters from GTA V will appear in GTA Online
  • GTA Online will not always be limited to Los Santos; additional locations are in the works
  • You can do anything in GTA Online that you can do in GTA V. They list the following: heists, co-op missions, gang attacks, death matches, impromptu deathmatch, races, tennis, golf, base jumping, shooting range, ambient events (hold ups of stores, armored van robberies, crate drops, import/export missions involving car theft, bounties that you can set on other players and people can claim), betting
  • If you are killed while holding money, you will lose a large portion of it and others can steal it. Use banks to keep money safe
  • An in-game smartphone can call your friends whether they are in GTA Online or GTA V. You can also use this to set waypoints for your friends. While using the phone, your avatar moves their lips with yours.
  • While you are driving, you can choose to grant someone else permission over the radio
  • In-game AI will respond to how aggressive you are on your mic (as in, if you're shouting during a robbery, the AI will react and speed up/become more frightened)
  • Whoever sets up a heist decides who gets what cut of the final money when that money is obtained
  • Garages range from two car ports to 10 car ports
  • Cars can have retractable roofs controlled by the player
  • Missions can be accessed by physical markers or through a quickmatch sort of menu
  • User-made missions can be favorited and rated
  • You can assign other players certain roles in missions based on the particular abilities they have leveled up
  • You can share cash and ammunition
  • There are stealth kill animations, possibly with a knife. The game tracks the amount of noise your character is making, and the AI will respond accordingly
  • You can steal physical items. During the demo, a mission was done in which a bike warehouse was robbed. The bikes had to be transported out in a large truck
  • "RP" are the points you get to level up your character
  • You can use physical gestures, such as flipping the bird
  • All of your info/communications in the game appear in the "Feed." Rockstar mentioned this as a sort of Twitter for GTA Online
  • You can purchase insurance for your car. By insuring your vehicle, if it gets destroyed or stolen, you can have it replaced by paying a small premium
  • Police helicopters have cameras mounted to the front of them. In real time, you can watch on live TV (on the news channel in your apartment) players with a high wanted level being chased by the police. There are additional channels with programs such as a crime noir show
  • Heists can have up to 20 different components. A heist is mentioned where a Titan (largest aircraft) is guarded by "Maryweather" (sp?)
  • There is a heli-pad on the roof of (at least) the largest AmmuNation and the store can also be accessed from there
  • Off the west coast of Los Santos, there is an another island with lots of buildings. This has not been seen before, but the folks at CVG saw it from afar
  • There is a "passive" mode where you cannot shoot or be shot
  • Your online world will always be populated with by 16 human players. You can still have friends in the game with you, but the other slots will fill up with random people around the same reputation level, as well."

I'm hoping it'll be more like Red Dead, you could have quite a few in your posse and roam around - can't remember exact number but we definitely had more than 4.

GTA V acheivements are out and Backseat Driver caught my eye. Looking through that it really sounds like they could have sold GTA online as a separate game. Will be interesting now to see how any DLC pans out and whether it will be more focused on GTA online rather then the single-player or in typical Rockstar fashion do both and smash each out of the park.

Also went back and played TBOGT to 100% the missions and I am so glad that you can escape cops in the circle now the amount of times I would have a cop spawn in-front of me once I escaped the circle was too many.

Rockstar introduces 'Crew Hierarchies' in Grand Theft Auto V:

Posted Image

"The first of many Rockstar Games Social Club features we'll be introducing for Grand Theft Auto V andGrand Theft Auto Online is the all-new Hierarchies system for Social Club Crews - borne directly out of feedback from the Social Club community. Available for all Crew Leaders right now at the Social Club website, the Hierarchies feature allows the Leader of the Crew to assign special ranks to members, designating the responsibilities of Crew management and assuring that loyalty and performance are rewarded appropriately.

"Crew Leaders can assign special rank to any and all members (Crew members will otherwise all be defaulted to the designation of Muscle) across the following four tiers:
  • Commissioners:  The Crew’s most trusted member(s) - that essential right-hand man or woman that the Leader relies on for Vice Presidential advisement and executive action. Commissioners have the power to manage and administrate all aspects of the Crew on behalf of the Leader, including the ability to promote members internally or invite new members in.
  • Lieutenants: Made members with specific privileges to keep the Crew in check and hand out promotions or demotions amongst sub-ordinate ranks. Crew Representatives and the mob of Muscle would be wise to keep their Lieutenants (and above) sweet.
  • Representatives: A tier of Crew members who have shown and proved their commitment to the clique - whether with ace performance in competitive modes, or just by rocking their Crew's emblem faithfully since day one. Crew Leaders can assign these special players as Representatives who will have basic permissions to aid recruitment efforts.
  • Muscle: The rank-and-file mob of Crew members who are happy to play their position of causing some havoc Online, doing their Crew's emblem justice and fighting for its good name. Muscle-level members may not have nor want any administrative power but they're often the heart and soul of what makes your Crew fearsome. Ambitious Muscle who are looking to prove themselves to the Crew Leader and rise up the ranks may even prove a threat to their Crew superiors, if any are deemed to be slacking on their responsibilities or performance.
"Beyond the overall Crew cap, there is no limit on how many Crew members you can designate to any one tier - so decide whether your squad will be a communal and anarchic free-for-all or a rigidly structured and exclusive Hierarchy designed to reward the chosen few and keep the Muscle thirsty for recognition?"

Im a bit weary of this game. I got sick of GTA4 really fast and dont want to get burned again, but it seems like there is enough to do in this one to warrant a purchase.

Yeah, I'm a bit like that with GTA's as well... usually buy them, play about half and get sick of it but then return 6 months to a year later to finish it off. Exactly what I did with GTA4. Gonna avoid the online until I've seen enough as well.

I am sure the GTA5 will be good, but I have been replaying GTA4 recently and boy does it ever get repetitive. I am sure I will play this game, but not right away. I'd rather have a go at Saints row 3 and see how that compares to GTA4 in terms of fun/enjoyment
